This phone has been a lot better than I thought it was going to be. The display is responsive, everything is good. But it doesn't have android 15. I wouldn't pay the $1,000 price tag they are asking. Wait until it is cheaper if it ever gets cheaper. It is honestly worth $700 or cheaper
The battery life when used constantly has lasted me about 7 days. It takes a little over 2 hours to charge.
I noticed everyday it uses about 20% and maybe 14-15% if I don't use it as much or am using it for work.
It works on AT&T with an activated sim card however they restrict my download speed to 100mbps which is good enough to do everything and I haven't noticed any issues with service. They restrict it on Verizon and AT&T because they have a list of allowed devices on their network and it's based by brand. I can see the network being better on T-Mobile or mint mobile.
I tested the phones water resistance a little bit and it didn't seem to have any issues. And didn't stay wet for very long
The phone fits into my pants and shorts just fine and I don't need a belt. Just make sure you don't have shallow small pockets.
I can't find a good case which is a very bad thing. I feel like the phones display and camera should have plastic hanging further over the edges of the display. I might try 3d printing something out of tpu.
The actual operating system is good, but the home screen is not very customizable out of the box. I downloaded Google pixels home launcher which is called lawnchair and that made it way more pleasing.
If you were to swap to a different OS you likely would not retain all of the features like the projector or camping light because those are apps and are built into the OS. I haven't tried backing up the APKs or anything and I really don't plan to. And that is if you can put a different operating system.
I like the camping light and the projector. They both work pretty well. Obviously the projector only works well in the dark but it still displays in the light. The camping light is the main reason I bought it because I work on cars and like having a bright light to check parts. It works very well for that. I also really like the assignable buttons they are easy to set and can be set to do something when pressing the button twice instead of once so it prevents a lot of accidental actions.
Edit - I forgot to mention the Camera. I could barely scan a QR code. I had to take a photo using the right zoom and editing the brightness to get google lens to show me the website. The standard camera is very much lacking. The regular photos looked pretty decent and the video calling looked better than average apparently. The regular phone calls sounded nice too so there's that.
The speaker is good but listening to music there isn't much bass at all, the mid range is great but the high end doesn't sound the clearest you could probably make it way better with an EQ but I'm not sure if you can do that.
Overall I like the phone a lot. But I don't like talking to people very much and this phone starts conversations. I have had a lot of people ask me what phone this is and why I need a phone this thick. I very much like it but I don't like the price and I don't like the glass being almost flush with the plastic edges it kind of negates my reasoning of buying it because I wanted a phone that was almost impossible to crack the screen. It is better than my last 4 which have been all different brands because it doesn't have a rounded display. But for anyone else my recommendation would be get a Google pixel 9a with an OtterBox. The battery is 6,000 mah no rounded display and is $450 you won't have the odd gimmicks but it is probably more reasonable. If oukitel made a 5g phone just like the pixel with a light like this and a bigger battery I would get it in a heartbeat if the price and thickness was right.
