The specs and features seemed impressive compared to my old Q5+: auto mop washing and self-drying (my Q5+ has no mopping feature), 7000Pa suction (my Q5+ is only 2700Pa), obstacle avoidance (which the Q5+ lacks), ultrasonic carpet sensing (not available on the Q5+), quieter operation (63dB vs. 67dB), and new features like the ability to lift the mops by 10mm when encountering carpet and spinning them at 2,000 rpm while cleaning floors. Having never owned a mopping robovac before, I was excited to put this one through its paces.
After unboxing (it was very well packaged), I set up the Qrevo S with my existing Roborock app running on my Google Pixel 8 Pro (Android, app version 4.36.10). Upon powering up the Qrevo S and launching the app, it automatically detected the unit and guided me through connecting it to my home Wi-Fi. This, however, is where I ran into an issue: it wouldn’t connect to my home Wi-Fi. It turns out — and this is documented — that the Qrevo S (and most, if not all, of Roborock’s robovac products) doesn’t support 5 GHz Wi-Fi; it only works on 2.4 GHz. In this day and age (it’s almost the year 2025), it's disappointing to find the lack of 5 GHz Wi-Fi support. I had to temporarily disable the 5 GHz radio on my router just to complete the initial Wi-Fi setup. Once completed, I re-enabled 5 GHz on my router, and the Qrevo S continued working fine. It's not a deal breaker, but still annoying nonetheless.
Once the unit was connected to my home network, the next step was to map out the home's floor plan via the “quick mapping” feature, where the robovac roams around the house, mapping the layout and rooms. For my home, where the Qrevo S was placed on the first floor, it quickly mapped the floor plan in about 15 minutes. That was quick, compared to my old Q5+. Using the app, you can edit the floor plan by adding, deleting or merging rooms and renaming them, but I found the process somewhat finicky and, at times, frustrating. This isn't a hardware issue but rather a limitation of the app (in this case, Android). There is a certain trick to creating rooms (by adding dividing lines), and sometimes you need to “think outside the box” when placing the dividing lines to separate rooms, which may require multiple attempts. Again, this isn’t a hardware problem, and hopefully the app will improve over time.
How did the Qrevo S perform as a robovac? Impressive, especially compared to the Q5+. As mentioned, I’ve never had a robovac with a mop before, and it did a commendable job mopping the hardwood floors and vacuuming carpets. What impressed me most were two features: its ability to automatically stop spinning the mops and slightly raise them when detecting carpets (even high-pile carpets) and its "Reactive Tech" obstacle avoidance technology. The latter was able to detect Murphy’s (our dog) ball/toy in its path, note it on the map/app, and avoid it. I have attached photos as proof. LiDAR-based navigation is standard. The unit also supports multiple floor mappings (up to four floors), but for now, I have it set up for just the main floor.
When the robovac finished its cleaning cycle, it automatically found its way back to its multifunctional dock and initiated its docking sequence. Once docked, it began the self-cleaning process: washing and drying the mops, emptying the dustbin (330ml capacity), refilling the water tank on the robovac (80ml capacity) from the clean water bin if needed, and recharging the unit.
Summary:
Pros: Impressive robovac with automatic self-cleaning, mopping capability, LiDAR-based navigation, and obstacle avoidance.
Cons: Only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and editing the floor map in the app can sometimes be frustrating.
THE GOOD:
1. Setup was easy once I got comfortable with the idea of allowing the Roborock app to have location access. Apparently, it's only needed for setup because I've since turned it off, and it's still working fine. Camera access is not necessary at all if you don't use the QR code for setup.
2. The vacuum function is very quiet (and mopping is virtually silent). No matter the mode, we can comfortably hold a conversation right next to it. After dinner, we just lift our feet and keep chatting while it sucks up crumbs for us. It's been great!
3. It doesn't bump into or get stuck on ANYTHING. As long as you keep the sensors clean, you can pretty much set it and go. I have hardwood flooring, tile, washable area rugs, a regular area rug, a padded rubber mat, high transition strips, and a cat tree with a carpeted base, and this guy can handle all of it. If a cat throws a toy in front of it (or refuses to get out of its way), it'll just go around. In fact, from the very first day, our cats have been completely unphased by our Qrevo S, even when it kicks into a higher suction mode.
4. It doesn't suck up the edges of area rugs. That was a major problem with other brands of robovac, and the curling that resulted became a trip hazard. Not so with the Qrevo! It seems to instinctively know when to lift its little butt to get up onto thicker surfaces, and when to turn down the suction on thin mats, so the edges of all my area rugs are still nice and flat.
5. That first post-vac "slurp" is so satisfying! This is my first robovac with an auto-emptying base, and I'll never go back. I'm not sure if it found a lot of dirt that my regular vac missed, or if it was just inflating the debris bag for the first time, but the "whump" sound delighted me to giggles...because that was the moment I realized I wouldn't have to handle a dustbin. I will never, ever use another vacuum that doesn't empty itself.
6. You can adjust the amount of water the mop uses in each room. This is key when you're mopping hardwood and tile flooring in the same run.
7. You can set the unit to avoid mopping transition strips. We have wooden strips that are pressed in place but not glued or sealed, so this function is super important for us. A word of warning: you have to tell the app where the transition strips are. If you don't, the unit will straddle the strip and attempt to wash it, using the water volume you set for the current floor. So if you're mopping a tile floor that transitions to a wood floor, it will wash your transition strip and several inches of the wood floor with too much water.
8. The mop works with distilled water. We have very hard water, so I was worried about mineral damage, but the unit works great with distilled.
9. It only takes seconds to rinse out the dirty water tank. I had heard horror stories about how funky dirty water tanks can get, but this unit is so easy to dump and rinse after every washing that it hasn't been a problem.
THE BAD:
1. The recommended floor cleaner contains tea tree oil, which is highly toxic to cats. There are no other approved cleaning solutions.
2. The mop leaves little pee spots in its path. There aren't very many of them, but there is enough volume in each one to be a potential problem on wood floors if they're left to seep in.
3. The Lidar sensor is so tall that the unit can't fit under most furniture. This is the one and only thing cheap robovacs do better.
4. It doesn't mop all the way to the wall. It does a great job of vacuuming to the edge of the room, but on this model the mop heads don't get all the way there.
5. The mop pads lift up when traveling over area rugs, but not enough. The wet pads will clear thin mats and washable rugs, but will drag across regular rugs, leaving a damp trail behind (and without a cat-safe surfactant at work, it's basically dragging mud across the rug. Ew!)
THE UGLY:
1. I'm going to say it again, because it's a legitimate problem: The recommended floor cleaner contains tea tree oil, which is highly toxic to cats. There are no other approved cleaning solutions.
There are so many more great things to say about the Qrevo S, but other reviewers have covered those features well enough that they don't need to be said again. Overall, I'm thrilled with my Qrevo S, and I would absolutely recommend it to others. Five stars and two thumbs up!
1 - it is SIGNIFICANTLY quieter than any unit I've previously had, including the Roomba and Ecovac Deboot, ESPECIALLY the self empty!!!
2 - It maps beautifully, I only had to do it once for the bottom half of my home. My floorplan includes a sunken living room and then another step down to the den.
2b - it easily found and uses the ramps between levels successfully EVERY time. My Deboot NEVER did this correctly. It constantly got stuck or lost. If I bypassed the ramp and sat it on the level manually, the Deboot would get confused and not move. The Rovorock can handle the movement with no issue (my Roomba could as.well).
3 - it cleaned the carpets wonderfully and picked up pretty much every cat hair (I used my Dyson right after and the bin was almost empty. Very different than my Roomba)
4 - my carpets - even the edges - stay dry
5 - it has yet to tangle
7 - it has handled every floor surface (I have two types of tile including a ruatic Italian that looks like cobblestone, hard wood, and carpet)
8 - I LOVE the SmartPlan option. Once you map your home, name your rooms, and select your floor surface, Smartplan uses that data and the dirtiness levels of your room to determine cleaning process. In the beginning, I didn't understand how it worked, but now I do. Then unit has multiple water levels, cleaning patterns and vacume suction levels. Instead of you selecting those for each cleaning, you select SmartPlan. Then while cleaning the room, SmartPlan adjusts each option based upon the the cleaning. For example it does my kitchen every night. The first night I saw (via the completed cleaning map) where it did a cross hatched cleaning in front of counter tops, single in the middle of the floor, as well as some spot cleaning. That made sense since the perimeters in front of my counters is where I work the most. I thought night 2 would be the same. However night two, it did slightly different and cleaned heavily in front of the area where I did a lot of food prep for dinner. Day 3, I cleaned my fridge, and that night it did extra in front of the fridge. Mind you, in each instance, I could not see any visible differences on the floor, but the machine can. My kitchen floor literally sparkles, ans so so the others.
With SmarrPlan, I can hear the unit adjusting as it cleans, heavier suction of vacum if needed and other areas it's almost silent because it needs less suction or it focuses on mopping. SmartPlan really takes the guesswork out of the process and let's the robot do the work intelligently. With the schedules, it is basically worry free other than watching the tanks and dust bin.
I am really REALLY pleased with this little unit. Although I've only had it a little over a week, it has satisfactorily done every room in the bottom half of my home which has 3 different levels as mentioned above. Seriously considering a second one for the upper level.
If you read all of this, thank you letting me wax poetic about a darn robot 😌
Here is my honest opinion. Just a regular home owner, passing on the good and bad, as I personally really appreciate people taking time to post a thorough review when I’m trying to decide which to buy, especially for something that isn’t inexpensive. I would give this a 4.5 if that were an option. It is almost perfect, especially at it’s price point. The only single complaint I have is the vacuum part doesn’t quite get all the dirt. To be fair, we have 4 dogs and a cat, who all have access to a dog door that leads into the main portion of our house, AND we live on a dirt road, so we probably have a lot more small particles to pick up than the average household. The only reason I even have the expectation that a robot vacuum should be able to handle that much dirt is that I have a now 7 year old roomba 960 (one of their 2nd or 3rd generation, basic robots) that will pick up every grain of dirt, even along the edges, so I know it’s possible. That one decided it could no longer navigate my whole house every night, which is how we use our main robot vacuum, so it got to retire to just our bedroom during the day, and still does the same excellent job getting up dirt, as long as I keep the rollers and side brush replaced as needed. No roomba I have tried since then has been as capable and Roomba doesn’t use the lidar navigation, which is why we’ve branched out as we like to vacuum while we are sleeping. So, back to this Roborock Qrevo S. The two main negatives in the reviews, you tube videos, etc was that it doesn’t do edge mopping and it’s obstacle avoidance isn’t the best. This is well documented so I wouldn’t take any points off for that, since I knew that going in. I’m careful to keep cords, toys, and other things picked up, none of my animals use the bathroom in the house, and I like to scrub my baseboards occasionally and can easily wipe along the edges of the floors then. So, for me, this was an acceptable compromise for the price point. However, after using this thing, vacuum and mop, once or twice per day for four days, and still feeling grit on the floor immediately after it has completed a whole house run, on the highest suction settings, set to vacuum each room two times, I’ve decided to send it back. I feel like I gave it a good chance to prove what it can do. I originally wanted to try it over more time, since I still have two months to send it back. Considering I had vacuumed the whole house the evening before I set this thing up, had deep cleaned under and behind all the furniture for Thanksgiving guests, and had done a very thorough manual mopping 5 days before, (with a grout brush and a regular industrial mop, rinsing each area until the “dirty” water was clear), I think after approximately 6 runs over 4 days, it was probably at the top of it’s capabilities for our home. I would rather go ahead, clean it up, and send it back before it is harder to clean and maybe wouldn’t look as new, so someone else can receive a “used” vacuum in good condition and be happy to have it. I am upgrading from another robot vacuum that ran every single night as well, so our floors just aren’t THAT dirty. As you can tell, I am very picky about cleanliness, lol!!
Okay, now for the good points. The app was very easy to set up, even for a not so tech savvy user such as myself. I did have to google one thing that I didn’t see in the user manual or quick start guide, but the answer was easy to find. (FYI: I’d wanted to know how to delete a routine once you’d created it. You just had to close the app and reopen it. It then gave an option to delete.)
The mopping is really, really good. First, the dirty water was dirty, so obviously the mop is getting up something. Second, there were some spots in the kitchen of various dried liquids from all the cooking over Thanksgiving that I purposely left to see how this thing would do. It took several moppings but it got all of that up. Then, the whole rinsing the mop pads every 15 minutes, as well as rinsing and then drying them at the end, have the mop pads completely clean and dry so no yucky smells and no need to change out mop pads daily such as with older models. Another thing, despite that my house obviously has literal dirt on the floor, the on board dirt/dust bin is perfectly clean inside and the dust bag in the base definitely has dirt, fur, dust, etc in it. I feel like over time this feature would certainly help the filter stay cleaner, which in turn, as we all know, will allow the suction to remain stronger. One random thing to note: There was never any fur in the dirty mop water or left on the mop pads, or the cleaning tray under the mop pads. There is fur in the dirt collection bag. There was, however, dirt in the dirty water and also fine dirt in the mop cleaning tray. I would say this is a good indication that the vacuum was picking up all the fur and larger dirt particles, but incapable of suctioning up the finer dirt.
Our house is 1300 square feet. Set at medium water usage for the hardwoods (half of the house), max water usage on the rest of the house, going back to rinse the mop pads every 15 minutes, AND doing each room twice, the water bins would last through two full house routines. You probably wouldn’t want the dirty water to sit for more than two or three days anyway, so I’d say that was pretty good.
Another HUGE plus is how quiet this thing is. It dried pads for 3 hours after each run but you could barely hear it, unless you got close and focused on it. Emptying the on board dust bin into the larger bag in the base makes some noise but significantly less than our previous robot vacuum. My cat says thank you for that!
I cannot comment on carpet or rugs because I don’t have carpet or area rugs and pick up the throw rugs every evening so the vacuum can vacuum under them. I’ve done that for years, so nothing to do with this particular vacuum.
Anyway, overall, I think this is still an excellent vacuum for it’s price and in a home with a little less outside dirt, it would be perfect. I hope this review is helpful in your quest for the perfect robot vacuum for your situation!
Pros:
-Mapping with the app was pretty simple. I didn't think at first it got an accurate map, but it turns out that it did.
-Great suction power- it gets up almost everything on the floors. I've run into a few odd pieces of trash (grass, etc) it might have missed, but not very often.
-Self emptying- I've used for several times without emptying, although i highly doubt it would hold for 60 days. I only run mine 2-3 times a week then do a pass with my big vac once a week on the weekend.
-Create no go zones- have two or 3 things in the house that have like rails that sit on the floor (an ottoman and a baby bouncer) it gets stuck on. I do those as no go zones and have no problem.
-Create multiple routines in the app- I have one for just vac for the whole house, one for both, and I may create one just to do my high traffic areas like my hallway from the carport and my kitchen.
Cons:
-For the price, it should come with at least a container of sample cleaning solution. This has been my biggest pet peeve so far. It came with nothing and there was no note anywhere on Amazon saying that it would not. Most products of this nature do and if you use any other solutions it voids the warranty. At least give me a warning to order the solution when I buy the vacuum.
-I think the pattern can be weird sometimes- like going horizontal in hallways instead of just the length of the hall. It does part of my hall horizontal, part longways.
-When you mop and vac- this takes mine about 3.5 hours total to do my entire house. For reference I'm at about 2,200 sq ft. About a hour of that 3.5 hours was to charge it to finish the job. This doesn't really bother me all that much since I usually run it if I'm not at home, but I was a little surprised at how long that took. It can vacuum that amount of area without charging though, so this I think it due to going back to the dock to dump mop water.
-The app has A LOT of features in it, and it has been and continues to be a learning curve for me but the robovac I had before didn't use mapping either much less have so many customization options. I don't think the app is super user friendly but I also don't think it's horrible either.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the product. It has been my best buy of 2024 so far. I have a 10 month old that is crawling and in to everything so this helped me achieve my goal of being able to vacuum/mop multiple times a week for her and it also makes me happy to come home to clean floors. I highly recommend, I just advise that you be reasonable about your expectations.
- Better mapping and cleaning than my previous higher end robot vacuum from a popular brand
- Quiet operation
- Customizable cleaning settings, routines, and obstacle avoidance
- Heat drying so the mop pads don’t smell
- Easy to fill and empty water tanks
- Easy to change the bag and mop heads
- Maintenance notifications for brushes, sensors, and filters
- Connects to Alexa
- Comes with an extra bag
- Great value
Cons:
- Not great for carpet cleaning if you have pets who shed often
- My previous vacuum notified me when it was time to change the bag, this one does not
- Cleaning solution is a bit expensive, other solutions void the warranty
- Initial setup was difficult with connectivity issues (tip: if it won’t connect to your phone, turn off cellular data so there’s no lapse when the WiFi channels switch. Mine wouldn’t connect until I tried that)
- Learning curve with the app
I bought this particular combo on a whim when I saw it was on sale. I’ve wanted a robot vacuum/mop combo for a while but couldn’t justify spending a lot on one. I had my eye on a much more expensive model thinking I’d save for a big sale when I saw this one. I figured I’d at least try it. I love it! It maps and cleans my apartment better than my previous robot vacuum and my house always smells fresh.
I have a dog that sheds a lot even with daily brushing and I noticed this isn’t great on carpet for picking up fur. I’ve set it to skip my room entirely and I just use my stick vacuum in that area. I think this would be fine for carpet in households with no pets or maybe pets who seldom shed because it does have good suction power. I run this every other day and my hard floors stay so clean.
I mentioned that other cleaning solutions void the warranty. I bought the brand’s Omo solution. It’s expensive but a little bit really does go a long way and helps prevent bacteria growth. Make sure to read the directions so you don’t use too much! I’ve seen others say they use water only and it works great for them, but I’ve always used solution so I can’t speak to that. It doesn’t come with a silver ion module but I highly recommend buying one for it. It keeps the water from smelling bad and reduces the chance of mold too. I ordered one off Amazon and there’s a spot in the clean water tank to just snap it into. It looks like a weird little rectangle on the bottom. The module lasts a year. I’d recommend emptying both water tanks at least once a month, if not more.
I’m relatively tech savvy and this took a little bit of time to get the vacuum connected and learn how to customize the settings. It’s not hard, it just takes a bit to find everything and remember where stuff is. I do really like that it is so customizable though.
Overall, I really like this and definitely recommend it. It has a lot of great features for the price.
Have a Golden Retriever, so lot of fur (I mean, LOT) around the house. I had to personalized carefully the -cleaning- plan: vacuum + vacuum + mop, so the mops do not spread the dirty fur around the house. Now, I have scheduled some "daily plan" (vacuum + mop) around 3PM, so the house is a pretty much cleaner and it saves a lot of time for me. If you have pets, you just need to check that some fur roll up at the main brush and need to be removed from time to time.
Battery is OK. I mean, it cleans and then charges somehow quickly.
Vacuum it is pretty nice as you have like 5 power stages to choose from. I use the standard one for the daily clean up and the -max power- for deep cleaning.
I am not sure if you have better options by this price, but I got it at $459.99 and I am pretty satisfied. I was kind of scared that could end up arriving with a failured-part, but I think that could happen with anything you are buying. It think the [quality/time saving/price] balance worth it.
- What impressed me: the object avoidance is awesome. My dog is following and barking at the R2D2 all over the place and it avoids him and its toys without any problem.
- Something bad: A little bit noisy if you want to, for example, study while the R2D2 is cleaning, but nothing else.
I will update the review in a few months to tell you how the thing is going.
The vacuum hugs furniture beautifully, navigates around obstacles without getting stuck, and maps out rooms with incredible accuracy. The technology is top-notch, making cleaning seamless and efficient. We were so impressed that we bought two for ourselves and have already gifted two to friends—everyone loves them!
If you’re looking for a powerful, reliable, and intelligent robot vacuum, we cannot recommend Roborock enough. It’s a game-changer for any household, especially pet owners!
Their customer service is also amazing fast responses always willing to help
We have two toddler age boys my wife, and I are also very active outdoors even with taking your shoes off before we come in the house. Our floors are filthy all the time we hire cleaners to come once a month and we feel like we sweep and mop constantly, but if we walk around with socks on our socks are dirty on the bottom. We have had this Roborock around for almost 2 weeks. There is not a single crumb on our floor. Floors are perfectly clean all the time.
Midday, we run the vacuum/mop on the bedroom side of the house. At night while we sleep, we run in the vacuum/mop on the other side of the house. Our house is just shy of 3000 sq ft. Mixed flooring type LVP, Tile, Rugs. We also run the vacuum/mop after we cook in the kitchen for breakfast, lunch and dinner and we run it in the dining room as well after we eat a meal. We probably run it more than we need to, but it is incredibly satisfying to wake up to absolutely clean floors every day. My boys feet are no longer dirty at the end of the day.
With the mop we have it return to base to clean after 10 min which is the most often you can select. The first handful of dirty mop water dumps were pretty dirty. Now after about 10 days The dirty mop water is just cloudy. I think we have probably mopped all hard surfaces at least 10 times and kitchen, dining room probably 30 times. I know it’s overkill I am sure but at this point we are addicted to perfectly clean floors all the time.
Yesterday, I carted a Christmas tree through the back door and across the house. It was wet from rain, a bit dirty from cutting it down, pine needles dropping the whole way. While we decorated the Christmas tree this thing cleaned up the entire mess.
It just works! No fiddling. No missed spots. No bs.
The initial mapping was easy and much quicker than I expected. It mapped my entire 2500 sq ft house in one go and did a really good job of recognizing potential trouble spots. The Roborock app, which is new to me, is pretty easy to use. It features "No-Go Zone", "Edit Room", "Edit Furniture" and "Edit Surface" options. So far the only option I've used it the "Edit Room" to give meaningful names to the rooms found during the mapping run. I created "Routines" for individual rooms and sets of room that allow you to determine the Smart Plan type of cleaning: "Vac & Mop", "Mop"', "Vacuum" and "Custom". Then you can adjust "Suction Power", "Water Flow", "Cleaning count" (number of passes - 1 or 2) and the "Route" (fast or standard). Once the I had created the routines I then created scheduled room cleaning appropriate to our needs. Scheduling lets you choose "Full", "Rooms" or "Routine". I have only used Routines so far. When scheduling you pick the "Start" time and how often to repeat. The options are "Once", "Everyday", "Weekdays", "Weekends", or "Custom". For our needs I have only used "Custom" as this allow you to pick specific days of the week to run. There are other capabilities that I have yet to explore.
Our Qrevo S has been running on our schedule for 9 days as of this review and has done a great job of keeping our floors clean. The robot has always returned to its docking station when it needs to get more water for mopping or to clean the mops and at the end of a cleaning cycle. The mapping has proved to be excellent as it goes to where it should and not get trapped during cleaning. It handles our medium pile carpets with no problems, always raising the mop heads where needed. My only regret is wasting my money on another brand and not purchasing the Qrevo S when I replaced our previous Roborock.
Here's the rub to my "BUT" addition in the headline: I bought replacement mops (OEM) to have on hand, and they fit fine. I bought replacement washable filters (OEM) and they are 1/4" too long and do not fit in the dust bin. I am not the first customer to complain that the filters do not fit. These are going back to Amazon but not before I contacted Roborock mfg and chatted with them on-line about their washable filters NOT fitting the Qrevo S model. They are "looking into it with the Development team" is the story I got. So, just beware, you may never be able to replace those washable filters if Roborock's Development Team isn't putting out the correct filters. What is being sold as "washable filters" for the "S" model, definitely does NOT fit.
UPDATE: After communicating with the Mfg for the last almost 60 days, they do not have the replacement washable filters for the "S" model. They say it has only been out for the last 2 to 3 months and that's the reason why (?) Odd, when the bags and mop pads are the same and available but the filter is not available. WORSE - they have no idea when the correct size replacement filters will be available !!!
This is NOT a cheap robo vacuum but maybe that's why they are discounted $200 ??? Gotta clear out the stock since they don't have filters that fit ???
UPDATE: So, after a few emails with the company, they finally were able to get me the correct washable air filters for my Q Revo S vacuum. I can honestly say, THEIR VACUUM AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE ARE STELLAR!! I run my vacuum and mop 2x a day, every 12 hours and the floors and carpets in my home are spotless and hair free (we have two 80# Labs). I have been encouraging friends and co-workers who have inferior robot vacuums/mops or who hand vac and mop, to get Roborock Q Revo S - they won't be disappointed.
Thank you Roborock for your professionalism and customer service.
It gets a 4 star rating only because the Bluetooth pairing to my home network as a pain. Make sure you read my tip of going into airplane mode to set it up.
Pro
* It does a great job mapping the house. It did have some issue because I have some wonky corners and lots of dimension to my rooms (ie - it’s not a square room. Lots of angled walls)
* I liked the way it cleaned my floors and carpets. The mopping feature is great.
* Decent instructional videos on YouTube
* I like how I can setup invisible walls, rooms and zones
* Ability to spot clean is a great feature
* Basically a set it and let its do its job product.
Con
* Support center is useless. I sent an email for additional support and a week later (during a work week) no response. A month later - still no response.
* A total pain to connect to the internet. Instructions suck. If you have a router that’s both 5 GHz and 2.4GHz, try disabling the 5 to connect
* I still couldn’t get it to connect to the internet even after disabling my 5 GHz network until I went into airplane mode on my iPhone. Keep that in mind if you have issues. (Not sure how this hack would work with Android phones tho)
* Videos on their website were non-existent.
* Instruction manual is lame. It doesn’t tell you how to setup zones or rooms. (I finally figured it out by poking around, but it’s not super intuitive)
* The personal vendetta MY DOG has for this roaming alien in our house is on a whole different level. He’s bound and determined to hold it hostage, and his sheer determination could rival any super powers in this world and beyond.
Fourth robot vacuum I’ve owned in about 7 years. First was cheap coredy with no mapping features. Did fine for small apartment.
Next was Wyze robot vacuum. Neat LiDAR mapped out my house and made sure to get every inch. That is until it started losing maps, not recognizing the map if a chair wasn’t tucked in or bag of dog food a few feet to the left. After receiving a replacement for a busted feature (that took 6 months btw) the new robot took 6 attempts to locate the map on the 2nd run of the day and unfortunately ran into a little accident that ended its robot life.
This lead me to a shark vacuum. Same issues as before. Returned it within 30 days.
Told myself I’m not falling for under $400 robot vacuums again. After significantly more research than I ever cared to do, and thanks to a large discount that seems to be the lowest price of the year (according to camel camel camel) I bought roboroc.
It’s great. Small dust bin which is not an issue if you break your rooms up into smaller sections. 6 cats and 2 dogs means it’s going to need to run twice a day every day. Mopping feature is truly exceptional. Gross cleaning out the dirty water tank but fully satisfying.
The only thing keeping it from 5 stars in my opinion is the noise. I hoped to catch a video of me pulling out a tiny piece of cardboard, or plastic, or single piece of dog food to cause the noise in the recording, But nothing. Watch me disassemble to find the culprit only for nothing to be there. Of course when I flip it back over and start it’s quiet as can be.
Major nuisance working from home hearing what sounds like a motorcycle going 20mph right next to you. Great job cleaning and mopping though!
Used it twice yesterday and it worked AMAZING! I had gardened all day and have a dog who tracked all through the house. Thought it would be a perfect time to check out what it can do and WOW. It had zero problem getting everything. An amazing feature too is when it senses its mop pads are dirty, it returns home to clean them and then continues the job, amazing! The mapping did an amazing job, and the app is super user friendly. As it’s mopping and vacuuming you can change the setting (low medium high) on the vacuum and mop.
Love this product and I cannot wait to keep using it nightly
I now have tried 3 different Roborock robots, the OG Q Revo (Last year's model) , Q Revo Pro and this Q Revo S.
They are all great robots which have saved me countless hours of boring, back causing pain of manual broom and mop house cleaning, if you have never used any, it will change your world, will make it so much more easier to keep your home clean.
I have a 2 story home with 2 cats, I run this robot every night, doing 1 day vacuum only and one day in vacuum / mop mode and there is a no shoe rule in my house, so my hole house is clean every day :)
I only run it only after I have returned from my job and double check there is no cat toys, or if by any chance there is any cat poop laying around as the object detection is not that good on any Q Revo model I have tried (The only one I have not tried is the Q Revo Master which does have a front camera, making me guess it has superior object detection) which is the reason I don't give it a full 5 stars, so make sure your house is clean of toys or cables on the ground as this might suck them up.
Pet or human hair is no problem as it has never become tangled, however I do check on the roller every few weeks to remove any hair tangled in there.
I use the cleaning solution on the clean water which makes the floor smell nice.
Now if you still have the original Q Revo, this are the upgrades over it:
- Mop washing tray is easier to clean.
- Suction power has been increased.
- Some older Q Revo had a water leaking issue, this has solved it.
- Not that noisy when emptying the dustbin.
If you need the extendable mop which will clean the corners of your house and furniture, get the Q Revo Pro which this model lacks, if you don't feel like you need that, get this and save a couple of Benjamin's.
It returns to the dock multiple times while mopping the floor to clean the mop heads which is awesome.
I wish would also empty the robot dust bin before or after cleaning the mop heads before it resumes cleaning.
Our home is approximately 1900 square feet. We have two house cats. We run the robot using the vacuum & mop cycle once a week.
When the dust bin on the robot is full, there is no alarm, alert or notification. In other words; if the dust bin is full during the cleaning cycle, the robot is just pushing dirt around.
I have found it caked with dust, dirt, cat hair etc. in the middle of the cleaning cycle. I
It was only pushing dust, dirt, cat hair etc. around.
In that condition, it isn't capable of emptying itself at the docking station.
My advise is to check the dust bin on the robot periodically during the cleaning cycle and empty manually when necessary. Also don't forget to empty the dirty mop water container. If left too long, it stinks!
It is extremely frustrating to make a purchase of this $$$, receive a defective product, and lose money on having the company correct its errors. I provided this feedback to the company and received no response.
Due to renovations, I only just started using the new robot. So far so good. I will update after time goes by.
UPDATE 11/11: since posting, customer service contacted me and covered the cost of shipping for the repairs as discussed above. I appreciate that effort and have therefore increased my rating.
However, it does struggle a bit with heavier stains, like those stubborn marks left by dog slobber. While it handles light cleaning well, it requires a little extra attention for tougher spots. That said, it still does a great job overall and saves me a lot of time with daily cleaning.
If you’re looking for a convenient, efficient cleaning solution and don’t mind giving a little extra attention to the really tough stains, this is a great option. I’d definitely recommend it, but it’s not perfect for deep stain removal.
I ordered two of these, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. Both products function excellently. We have mostly hard floors with some large area rugs downstairs, so the mopping feature gets a much better workout there, but upstairs has a couple bathrooms and bedrooms, so it has a mix, with mostly carpet.
I am pleased with the performance of both of the vacuum/mop units. My only real gripes would be that it could be a little smarter about working its way under furniture it can't get out from (fixed by marking it on the map, but it seems kind of silly to have to go and mark it) and it would be nice if there was a low water or almost full dirty tank warning, instead of the empty/full notification you get. Not the end of the world, but it would make maintenance easier.
The vacuum does a good job picking up the crumbs, dirt, and hair (we have three dogs, a cat, and two sons) and it feels like the mop actually does something. We had a combo unit previously, and it had a pad that sort of vibrated. When you watched it going around, you could see where the floor was wet and where it wasn't. With this unit, the wet trails overlap ever so slightly.
I can't speak to its durability, but these have been the best solution for our house. If you are so inclined, they can do multiple maps for different floors, but I didn't want to have to remember to move them around. The whole idea is to have light cleaning done for you that you don't have to do much with, so getting two units seemed like the best solution.
I trust their cs and their product. I advise everyone to give Roborock a try. You need this!
I received the two free filters offered as well as one of the two reimbursements promised.
Because the device does a good job and I was lucky enough to find a company and ordered an extra kit with the right filters I am going to leave it at 5 stars. It would be better if roborock would follow through with its promise and send the second reimbursement. Maybe I will contact them. Maybe not. As far as suggesting others buy roborock , the product is only as good as customer service.
Update.. roborock CS reached out to me and offered to send two free filters and due to t he issues i have had ordering and returning three pkgs marked with wrong information they reimbursed part of the purchase price. Since the robot was always 5 stars and i am quite satisfied with CS I feel it deserves 5 stars.
Update.. i have been in touch with roborock and they said this revo S has just recently been put on the market and all the parts have not yet been made. I did not get a good feeling from CS. They want me to wait until they make parts that should be available when it went on the market
What if they dont?Further they are purposely marketing kits that say they are compatible with this device knowing they are not. At this point i have to drop the eval to 1 star and caution not to buy...
I have had revo s for about 6 days and it does an incredible job. My floors have never looked this good
The app is kind of weak especially for a $900 robot but I can live with that and hope for an upgrade
What I can't live with is I CAN'T FIND DUSTBIN FILTERS THST WILL FIT. I've reached out to CS
I will give them a chance to make this right. If I can't get filters it will have to be returned and I will likely look at a brand I can get filters for.
This Roborock Qrevo S was a few hundred more but so worth it. I thought I missed 10 pages of instructions to set it up but I didn’t. It was so easy. Once mapping is done, it takes care of itself, there is nothing difficult, all the containers will last through several cleanings. Empties and washes itself, goes from tile to carpet and even does the bathroom mats.
I think it’s a good purchase, I did buy it during a sale, hesitant but no regrets.( now if I could just get it to dust the furniture)
This thing is amazing! We only mop our house once a month because this keeps up with the daily traffic on our tile so we don't have to keep our floors looking fresh. The battery lasts long enough to go over our floor twice and it will constantly go back and clean itself and then resume where it left off, super quiet, sometimes when she speaks you can't even tell.
Super easy to clean, we clean ours halfway through the month just to give it an extra deep clean. We only have to change the mop water out or refill it once a week.
Just look at the picture and you can see it in action and how great the mopping quality is! You can also see the size comparison next to our St Bernard. This little thing is definitely a huge benefit to have in our house with a family of four also, super impressed!
First time, bought refurbished from roborock via eBay. Failed after a couple of weeks because of battery issues. Got full refund after returning item.
Second time, bought from roborock store via Amazon. Worked for three months before a known unfixable error "robot and dock communication fail. Clean communication sensor". Opened ticket with roborock in the hope of returning the item or fixing this issue.
Past roborock vacuums I have used lasted 3+ years without problems except battery change. New roborock products though feature rich are of poor quality due to such issues I am facing. Mop failure, dock failure, battery failure etc. I hope the roborock company doesn't sacrifice quality by introducing poorly tested features.
[Update - Dec 23]
Roborock replaced the faulty unit and extended the warranty to Dec 2025. Also got $50 for my troubles.
For this, I am changing to 4 star for the excellent customer service. I was also offered full refund, but I really like roborock vacuums and wanted a replacement instead with the hope that the faulty unit was an outlier from their you usually good long lasting products.
One of the best aspects is how much time it saves. The self-emptying dustbin means I no longer have to deal with the mess after every cleaning session. It also auto-refills its water tank and washes the mops, leaving them dry and ready for the next use. These features practically eliminate the need for manual maintenance, which is a game-changer for someone like me who juggles a busy schedule. I’ve also noticed that the mop-drying feature prevents any mildew smells, which was a concern I had with other models in the past.
The robot’s smart obstacle avoidance system works flawlessly. I tested it by placing a few items like shoes and toys in its path, and it skillfully navigated around them without getting stuck or bumping into anything. Setting it up was straightforward, and the app is incredibly intuitive. I love being able to schedule cleanings, choose specific zones, and monitor its progress in real time.
One thing I have to mention is the price—getting this level of performance and convenience at the sale price felt like a steal. Delivery was prompt, and the packaging ensured everything arrived in perfect condition.
After a month of using the Roborock Qrevo S, I can confidently say it’s worth every penny. It has drastically reduced the time I spend cleaning, and my floors have never been so consistently clean. Whether you’re a busy professional, a pet owner, or just someone who values a clean home with minimal effort, this is the perfect cleaning solution. I highly recommend it!
Let me preface this review by saying we have 5 cats and 1 dog. Our floors are wood floor with a few area rugs sprinkled in some rooms. this robot is very quiet when working on just wood floors. it is a bit louder when working on carpet as it seems to kit into high gear when doing so. the mopping feature is amazing for the wood or tiled floors. I wouldn’t say this mopping feature removed your need to mop, but it greatly reduces how often you could mop. Maybe you could mop 2x a year with a good cleaning solution.
This robot runs for us at least once a day if not more. it have saved me hours of work per week.
If I could have one complaint, it would be that the dust bin portion requires bag replacements. For that alone I give it -1 star. If they could fix that I would consider this product perfect.
So far the only minor con... The camera works too good and sticks up from the top. If I leave a dog toy or shoe out it will go around it. The fact that it sticks out at the top prevents it from getting under some furniture it might be able to fit under without. But this would not keep me from buying this again. I will update down the road as I got this in November so I've only had it for 2 months.
I don't know if there is any additional setting I have to use to fix this issue. Otherwise, I would have to clear the rugs for this cleaner to work, which would be a significant inconvenience. Later, cleaning the bathroom rugs separately with my Dyson would also be a pain. Bathroom rugs are the ones in my house that need more frequent vacuums. I am still debating whether to keep it or return it..?
Update - Support was responsive and helped me adjust a few settings; it's doing better now. They also said there would be continuous improvements through software updates (like my Tesla), so I decided to keep it.
There are a couple of issues I ran into but we are able to work around them:
- The rotating brush can tangle in shoelaces and loose cables on the floor (and in one instance, led decoration lights that were hanging to the floor)
- The brush also ended up shutting my bedroom door a couple of times (it managed to kick away the stopper too - lol) and got stuck in the room.
Only negatives.... 1st is would say are it does an OK job (not good) on our rugs (muddy Mats) but we purchased it for the vinyl otherwise can deal with that. Using our old Sharp vacuum afterwards does pull a lot of dirt and hair from the rugs. Only other negative is no where on the directions or the clean water tank shows how much cleaner to put in it. Directions say to fill to fill line but can't see a fill line anywhere. I had to look at bottle of the cleaner and then estimate how much water goes in the tank to come up with how much cleaner to add. other thing is you think for spending this much it would at least come with a sample of the cleaner.
“Internal Error”. This product worked pretty well for the first few months. Unfortunately, after having this product for about four months, I started getting Error 106, Internal Error messages daily. It stops the robot vacuum/mop from completing its scheduled cleaning. This is a huge disappointment considering the product was not even six months old.
The Roborock vacuum mop has LiDAR scanners on the front sides so we can easily avoid obstacles and even has a sensor to know if it’s on carpet or tile and with the built-in AI cleaning tool through the app. It will know exactly what floor it’s on and will adjust itself during the cleaning process.
The battery lasts long enough to vacuum and mop my house every day.
First off, the suction is incredible. With 7000Pa power, it easily picks up dust, dirt, and pet hair from both hardwood and carpet. I was shocked at how clean our floors looked after just one run! The dual spinning mops are equally impressive, leaving no streaks and actually scrubbing off dried spills—something no previous mop vac we owned could do.
The self-emptying dock is a total game-changer. We literally don’t have to think about vacuuming or mopping for weeks since we have scheduled ours to go off daily. The hot air drying is such a thoughtful touch too—no musty smells and everything stays fresh. The auto mop lifting is genius; it seamlessly transitions from hard floors to carpets without dragging a wet mop behind.
What really impressed me, though, is the smart navigation. It maps out our entire home with incredible accuracy, avoids obstacles like cords and pet bowls, and the app lets us customize everything—from cleaning schedules to water flow levels. It's high-tech, but super user-friendly.
If you’re on the fence—get it. It’s an investment in a cleaner and an easier life. Worth every penny!
Note that we are a two person household. Tile only. Very little foot traffic. Small short haired dog with medium to strong shedding. Close to the beach.
The spinning mops are incredibly effective—my floors haven’t looked this good since move-in day. The smart obstacle avoidance is also surprisingly good; it navigates like it’s been mapping my house for years. It’s not your typical hit and bounce off, it’s almost as if it can see things and avoids them without pause.
It’s sleek, incredible smart, efficient, and low-maintenance. If you want hands-off cleaning without sacrificing results, this vacuum is absolutely worth it.
Bottom line: If you’re on the fence, hop off and let the Qrevo handle the mess.
My office is a hot mess with lots of cords, but the vac went right around them without entanglement! And it has never run through a mess that my dogs dropped when I wasn't around! My only regret is that I didn't purchase it sooner! Love it!! Picks up dog hair, navigates around the island chairs and under the dining room chairs with ease! I plan to purchase a second unit for the basement to take care of my husband's man cave. This is a great product!
The mop feature is nice to have, but it's not replacement for doing it yourself; this is more like rubbing a damp towel on the floor. As for the vacuum, it's not perfect; it's missed some small debris that baffles me how it could have missed; but overall I'd say the vacuum part is good.
I got mine on a big sale, and I would recommend you do too. At full price it's not worth that much.
A couple things I would tell someone who purchases, only because they didn't initially occur to me:
1. Dump the dirty mop water bucket each time you use it. Yes, it'll hold more than one cycle's worth but because it's so convenient I forgot and that water gets NASTY :)
2. I now also check the rotating brush at the front of the unit every couple times because strings and hair can get wrapped around it, and it won't rotate like it should.
Do yourself a favor and BUY IT.
Con: you can’t have wires laying around, rugs that move get bought,
We work long shifts, have 2 dogs that shed with a dog door that allows little dirty dog feet to come in and out. This device allows us to come home everyday to a spotless floor due to being able to schedule run times.
I read all the reviews saying it doesn’t self empty’s all the way but I have to say, the Qrevo self empty’s and refills mop solution perfect. I mapped our home and created an invisible wall on every area/room to not go in and it NEVER gets stuck. We are mind blown by this device and recommend it to anyone who doesn’t have time to sweep and mop every day.
I have used Roborock S6 before. Compared to it, it has better abilities to avoid obstacles, find alternate route, most importantly not to mop carpet… great buy
It really doesn't do well with long hair, which is a real problem considering that's what I have an abundance of. Already had to cut out my hair from the sides of the roller.
It also has a bit of an issue with 2 shedding labs and the absolute crapton of hair that they put out. I always have to come behind the vacuum and vacuum to get clumps of dog hair.
And the biggest complaint I have is that I can't schedule the cleaning in the app. This should be a standard feature imo, but I find the app lacking.
2 family members bought the same model after our recommendation and satisfaction.
