What really stands out, though, is the object avoidance feature. It glides around furniture, toys, and even the occasional cords without getting stuck. It’s so efficient and smooth in its movements.
The slim profile is another bonus. I have a doggie gate that it can slide under without any issues. It also rises just high enough to get over the legs of my coffee tables and chairs.
And the corner mopping ability is equally fantastic! It thoroughly cleans those hard-to-reach corners and edges, leaving my floors looking spotless and fresh.
Overall, this robot vacuum has made my life so much easier. It saves me time and effort while keeping up with the mess from my two shedding dogs. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a smart, powerful, and efficient cleaning solution!
It's worth it. This robot functions exactly how it should. It cleans corners well, it mops to the baseboards, it's suction is incredible, the time of flight/solid state lidar (starsight 2.0 as roborock calls it) is a game changer. Mapping and navigation work flawless, and the obstacle avoidance has taken a picture and avoided every single obstacle and pet in my house.
This is unit is being used on a 1100 square foot area, mixed hard floors and carpet and it leaves it clean. Even with six pets. No hair tangled in the brushes either. Battery life and quick charge are also as advertised.
My only real complaint would be the size of the water tank...but it still gets a few days before needing to refill.
I've owned this, a QRevo S, Eureka E20s, and a Eufy S1 Pro and this one is better than all in every single way. Seriously, this thing is good.
I have 3 golden retrievers and it was unable to empty the dust bin. It left clumps of dog hair around the house. And it never fully picked up an area. When I packed up the X50 to return it the dust bag was completely emptied despite using it for over a week! I had to manually empty the dust bin every time on the robot. However the Saros 10R with its unique roller system truly does work! Other robots continually get the rollers plugged. But not with the 10R.
Another feature the Saros 10R is superior is the navigational system. It just runs smarter! It doesn't bump into things as it navigates to and from a selected room. I decided to give the Saros 10R another try for it is the Cadillac of vacuum/mopping robots. They have multiple obstacle avoidence settings and I'll leave it on the sensitive setting. I avoiding dog accidents will always be a challenge for any robot. But in sensitive mode is definitely helping!
Original Post:
Wow stay away from Roborock. At the end I'll include a copy of the email they sent in resolving this and let you be the judge. I had the Saros 10R for less than a week. I loved it and it worked great....until it didn't. We have a small older dog who sometimes makes mistakes. Not often but sometimes. But you'd think with the brand new navigational system that Roborock brags with the Saros 10R it could surely detect pet waste and avoid it? WRONG!
It was vacuuming and mopping my kitchen when I got an error message that the rollers were jammed. I turned it over and the bottom was covered with pet waste. I had to take everything apart to clean it including the dust bin. It was terrible. And when I put it back on the dock it would not start. I tried resetting it and nothing.
I call customer support but with this being so new they don't know much about It and have to escalate it to their support team. Not once will you receive a call from the support team, only an email. And you would think they'd realize their machine made a mistake and would eagerly try to remedy the issue. But not the case....apparently it's the pets fault for being old and having an accident and not their "sophisticated" navigational system that can't recognize pet waste! They reply that they will only replace this unit one time as a courtesy and won't do it again in the future. Needless to say I informed them they didn't need to give me the courtesy for I returned the unit. I'm going to try the Dreame X50 and hope it works better. Here’s a copy of their email they sent in resolving this issue:
“Hi,
Thank you for reaching out.
We’d like to clarify that the Saros 10R is not advertised as having pet waste avoidance, and typically, damage caused by such incidents is not covered under warranty.
However, we have escalated your case to our supervisor, and they have approved a one-time replacement of your damaged device with a brand new unit as a gesture of goodwill. Please note that if a similar situation occurs again, we will not be able to offer the same consideration.
We will provide you with a shipping label to return the damaged device. Once we receive the returned unit, we will ship the replacement device to you as soon as possible.
If you would like to proceed, kindly provide your full U.S. address, and we’ll get the process started.
Best regards,
Roborock Support”
I also own the S8 MaxV Ultra, and after comparing the two, the 10R offers several key improvements. One of the most notable upgrades is the hidden front-facing LiDAR camera, compared to the top-mounted LiDAR on the S8. This design allows the 10R to clean more effectively under furniture, such as dining tables, as seen in action.
Another impressive feature is the extendable spinning mop, which reaches the edges of walls for a more thorough clean. The spinning motion also appears to apply more pressure, helping to scrub floors more effectively. Additionally, the 10R is capable of avoiding floor heat vents, demonstrating its advanced obstacle detection.
That said, the S8 MaxV Ultra remains a solid choice, as both models are highly intelligent and can navigate around furniture with ease. Since I’ve only had the 10R for a few days, I can’t yet comment on its battery life. However, my experience with the S8's excellent battery performance leads me to expect the same from the 10R.
Overall, the Saros 10R is an outstanding upgrade with enhanced cleaning capabilities and smarter navigation.
- Suction is more than double and it shows. I have 3 dogs so the floor is covered in hair every night and its spotless in the morning
- Much better mop. The rotating heads are way way better
- The mop gets hotter so it actually kills bacteria
- Navigation seems to be much improved
Only downside so far is that because its shorter (no huge lidar camera) it fits under places the Ultra couldn't get to so I need to program a couple of no-go zones.
overall this is the best robot I have bought and I have had other roborocks, irobot, and shark.
So we decided to try the very expensive RoboRock product and have been absolutely blown away by its performance. Mapping is an order of magnitude faster thanks to their highly effective sensor suite. Its ability to travel across carpets and modest thresholds (something that Roomba’s Braava series cannot) means that aside from picking up dog toys, vacuuming and mopping is a one button-push exercise. Emptying the bins, cleaning the mop heads and charging as needed requires no supervision. Other noteworthy differences: mopping is significantly better than Braava: 1) Its ability to clean mop heads means that it doesn’t just redistribute the dirt that it has already picked up; 2) Its ability to sense which direction the tile lines or wood floor seams run allows it to mop in the direction of the grain so to speak, so the floors look beautiful when done - tile and wood both. As far as vacuuming, it is about the same as the high-end Roomba self-emptying vacs. Its navigation around rooms is significantly better because its camera and Lidar-based sensors rarely seem to bump into furniture the way the Roomba products do (they use bump sensors).
As mentioned in another review, setting the dock to clean the mop heads every 10 minutes. As well, I recommend vacuuming and mopping separately (you can set that up in the app), as it leaves the mop heads behind so as not to drag them across medium or high pile carpets. Battery life is quite good and while the app isn’t as intuitive as it could be, it is quite good once you figure it out.
In summary: If you just want a good vacuum and maybe an occasional half-arsed mop, Roomba is a better way to go. If you want the whole (relatively expensive) combined system, I’ve not yet seen anything else that comes close. I haven’t had this long enough to speak to its reliability and will re-post if I learn anything different.
In my home we have medium pile carpet, hardwood and tile floors as well as rugs across two levels. This includes thresholds of varying heights... some tall enough to really stub your toe.
FYI: The package does not include the floor cleaning solution, so you will need to purchase that separately for the purposes of mopping.
My Roborock Saros 10r arrived on 05/21/2025, so at this point I've had it 5 days and my intent is to really put this through its paces while I'm still able to return it.
Packaging from Amazon & Roborock was great and it arrived in pristine condition.
Device setup was easy and the instructions were clear enough that I had no issues.
One thing I would highly suggest during setup, since this device must be connected to wifi, put it on either a different wifi network (I have an IoT network that can't connect to devices on my "normal" network with laptops/computers/phones/tablets) or if your router doesn't support that it may have a "Guest" network you can add it to. No matter how much or how little you pay for your Smart Home/IoT devices just keep in mind that they can become threats to your devices, their security and your privacy if that device or company becomes compromised. This is a small bit of protection, but worth it.
Speaking of privacy, this device has a built-in voice assistant. I have not activated it and have no intent to do so. Since it was not activated, my understanding is that this prevents it from listening at all. Additionally this device uses cameras to help navigate obstacles in addition to lidar. Not much you can do about this, but there is a feature where you can enable the camera remotely and drive the Saros 10r around your home to view things. I have not enabled this or used this feature. My understanding with this feature is that if you don’t enable it then the potential for that feature to be exploited (someone else looking through the camera) is greatly reduced.
The account set up in the app was simple, just make sure you use a strong password that is unique (not used by any of your other accounts).
The app works well, but settings can be difficult to find. Take time to really explore all of the settings in the app so you get the experience you’re looking for. Out of the box the Saros 10r announces very loudly when it’s cleaning, when it’s returning to charge, etc. The setting to turn the volume down is in the app under Settings > Voice Assistant > Volume.
The initial mapping of the main floor of my home was quick and accurate. It identified surfaces accurately as well as the stairs leading to the basement. You can really customize the cleaning behavior in the app, so I wanted max suction for the vacuuming and I wanted it to leave the mopping pads behind and only mop after vacuuming. It navigated the main floor without issue, returned to empty the dust bin as needed and when it was done vacuuming it returned to the base, picked up the mop pads and proceeded to mop the tile and hardwood floors. During the mopping I have it set to return to the base every 15 minutes to clean the mop pads.
I was very happy with the job it did with both vacuuming and mopping. Additionally the brush design works great with hair, well human hair at least. We don’t have pets. There are several women with extremely long hair that was a challenge for my Neato Botvac D3 and Roomba J7+ with the brush rollers getting tangled with hair. I’m happy to say that after multiple runs the Saros 10r brushes had zero hair in them. Also, the extending arm for cleaning in corners and along walls seems to work great as well.
The mopping was impressive. One of the mop pads extends out to get close to walls and corners which is a nice touch. You can also set many options for mopping in the app such as how much water is used and detecting areas that might need some extra attention. Again, really explore the app to customize the experience you want.
The water reservoirs for clean and dirty water are easy to remove, fill and empty.
My next test, cleaning on a separate floor of my home. This was easy enough, I was able to move just the robot to the basement. I created a separate map for the basement. There are several high thresholds here and the Saros 10r was able to navigate over them with ease. I didn’t try mopping since I feel like I would need to move the base downstairs to get the best experience. I may do this at some point, but not today. My take away, the Saros 10r is absolutely capable of easily vacuuming at least two floors.
The base station seems quite capable, it’s able to empty the dustbin and it’s not too loud. The mop pad washing, cleaning and drying works quite well so far.
Overall I’m pleased so far and at this price point… anyone who purchases this should be.
I’ve experienced no issues and the device has received two firmware updates.
I fully intend to continue heavily using the Saros 10r during my return window and will update this review if I encounter issues.
Consumable and replaceable parts are also on my radar. The robot seems to be fairly serviceable and I hope that being able to purchase those parts will be affordable in the future, especially batteries. The base station however I'm not sure about.
The built-in camera is such a cool feature too. Being able to watch it while it’s cleaning adds an extra layer of convenience. The slim design is a game-changer—gets under all my furniture without any problems. Decent battery life for vac & mop. The only downside I can think of is the price, but honestly, the features make it worth the investment for me. I would highly recommend it.
The suction and mopping power are top-notch, handling dirt and spills with ease, and I love the added perk of using it as a home camera to peek at my pets. It’s packed with intelligent features that make it feel futuristic and worth the investment—almost. The only drawback is the price. It’s a little pricey, which might give some buyers pause, especially if they’re used to more budget-friendly options like my old Xiaomi. Still, for the performance and convenience, I’d argue it justifies the cost. The Saros S10R is a brilliant upgrade for anyone ready to splurge on a smarter, more capable cleaning machine. I’m thrilled with it!
Changing my rating to 5 stars. The team worked diligently with me to resolve all the issues I had with the robot. It’s a great product from Roborock—cleans the house effortlessly and doesn’t leave dirt in the corners. I’m happy with my purchase!
The recommended OMO detergent doesn't seem to do much and I have been spraying floors with cleaning solution before running the mop for better results. The app interface is intuitive and slick and it's easy to fix minor mapping issues. While Alexa integration is available, it is flaky and the Roborock commands are awkward and I ended up creating custom routines as a workaround.
Minor negatives aside, this is a solid robot cleaner that excels in autonomous operation and requires minimal hands-on operation.
The base station looks very modern and sleek. It makes cleaning my 1600 sq ft house more palpable and can focus on other areas while the robot cleans.
I have a couple of furry friends at home, and this little machine has no trouble keeping their shedding in check. The vacuum will adjust its power based on the surface it’s cleaning. The LiDAR did a pretty good job of mapping out my house and when I do room specific tasks it works pretty well!
The good:
The mapping is very fast; my whole house was done in 20 minutes. It’s incredibly quiet; I’ve optimistically set schedules for when I sleep. The mopping is way more thorough than the j7. The tilting to get over thresholds works well. The articulating mop and brush is getting spots my j7 could never reach. No issues with navigation have been noted after a few cleanings. The dock is really cool and does much more than the auto empty dock I had for my roomba.
The ok:
The suction doesn’t seem to be as good as the j7. I’ve found occasional debris that wasn’t sucked up after multiple passes. I’m skeptical about the active hair removal claims and the split single roller but so far there haven’t been problems. There’s lots of settings you can toggle but it’s also fairly complicated. I tinkered for a few hours and am not sure it’s all set as I need. For some reason there’s a voice assistant on this thing, which I just don’t understand.
The bad:
The app isn’t intuitive; there’s nested windows upon windows upon windows. I can’t figure out how to add zones, which I think is fairly important. It’s taken me hours to modify maps, adjust settings, set up schedules, etc.
All in all, I think it’s a significant upgrade for me, though an expensive one. I’m hopeful it will last a while and I’ll have some time to explore all the settings.
Incredible Suction Power:
The Saros 10R effortlessly picks up dust, pet hair, and even tiny debris from both hardwood floors and carpets. It transitions smoothly between surfaces, leaving no trace of dirt behind.
Smart Navigation & Mapping:
The AI-powered navigation is spot-on. It maps out the entire home efficiently, avoiding obstacles and cleaning in neat rows. I love that I can customize no-go zones through the app, ensuring it avoids delicate areas.
Mop & Vacuum Combo:
The mopping feature is a huge plus! The smart water control ensures that my floors get just the right amount of moisture without leaving streaks. It’s perfect for keeping high-traffic areas looking spotless.
Built-In Camera for Live Monitoring:
This is hands-down one of my favorite features! The built-in camera lets me navigate the vacuum remotely and even sends me live videos. It’s like having a security camera and vacuum all in one. I can check on my pets while I’m away and keep an eye on things at home.
Intuitive App Control:
The Roborock app makes it super easy to schedule cleanings, monitor progress, and adjust settings from anywhere.
Long Battery Life:
One full charge easily covers my entire home, and it returns to the dock for charging without any hiccups.
Bonus: It’s surprisingly quiet, which is a relief when I’m working or relaxing.
If you’re looking for a top-notch robot vacuum that does it all with minimal effort, the Roborock Saros 10R is worth every penny. I highly recommend it!
This vacuum also mops; when the mop gets dirty, it returns to its station to wash it. It can detect carpet; when it does, the mop is lifted, preventing the carpet from getting dirty. The side brush enhances mopping, ensuring corners are extra clean.
This will be a worthwhile investment for me!
A cleaning solution doesn't come with the product, so you must order one
Also, they only come with one additional dustbag, so you should buy them for the future.
Can’t beat the service that I have received from the team to help out with a new product. I look forward to seeing what updates are coming in the future.
My two top choices...Roboroc Saros 10r vs. the Dreame X50 were in the running. I have mostly tile with deep grout ditches which makes a loud robot movement and wood floors, so deep carpet cleaning is not my focus. Both are so similar, however reviews all over the internet/youtube videos had the Roboroc Saros 10r winning by a hair.
My reason to go Roboroc saros 10r (I was really leaning to the Dreame x 50) was the use of the floor cleaning liquid WHILE washing. The Roboroc mixes it with the water in the tank which the robot works. The Dreame uses water for mopping and just uses the cleaner liquid for washing the mop pads.
The fact the mop pads spin (irobot is a flat pad that just pushes the dirty pad around on your floor-then you have to remove and replace after every wash) when the Roboroc returns-it washes the mop pads with hot water!!!!
I am watching the path this thing takes while it works and it is so much more organized than the roomba. The live view is great, I can tell my dogs through the live view to leave the robot alone (they harass and follow the vacuum around) and the robot will avoid them too. Go to youtube, watch all the videos.
This robot so far is amazing and so much more advanced than the iRobots offered now. Very quiet, you can watch tv while it works! So far, the wifi connected right away and the app works great, but I am still figuring it out.
It does not take up anymore space than my s9+ and looks really sleek. This will be my time saver as I have two big dogs, one being super fluffy and need to vacuum everyday. Plus I can mop more effectively with these spinning pads that will actually CLEAN my floors, not spread a dirty pad around.
I will update if there are any issues-but if you don't hear any further from me let's just say this is a win and worth the $.
So far definitely would recommend.
Does it clean under beds? Easily!
I have three dogs and you wouldn’t be able to tell thanks to this vacuum.
This vacuum can navigate through my kids playroom without making contact with a single toy.
Noise: it’s pretty quiet!
The app: highly intuitive and easy to set up.
I would buy again
The mop feature is next level and our woods floors are literally sparkling.
It works really well with our cats, and the ability to check in on them when we are out of town is also really handy.
Best of all, its quiet! I can have the vacuum running while working at home and it does not bother me or the animals. A Traditional vacuum is very loud and scares the cats.
Overall we are very happy with the RoboRock Saros 10R and will definitely recommend it to friends and family.
It has very good suction power for the vacuum. I like that the mops disconnect when doing vacuum only which is really nice.It doesn't use that much water each run and it does well with large obstacles. Decent build quality and battery life is above average.
Negatives:
Navigation could be better, it runs into lots of things other robots avoid including it's predecessor the slim. The suction from the vacuum filter doesn't work very well and gets clogged with cat hair; it's quieter than the slims so i imagine that is causing the issue.
Overall it's a good value for what you get, i'd wait for some software updates but the base system is solid so if they work on software it would be a 5/5.
Cleaning and mopping is awesome. it's relatively quiet as we can watch tv while it vacuums.
Does only ok with some streaking when on normal mopping but does a phenomenal job if you set it to the tighter pattern, It just takes longer. Overall we are loving it so far!
I have double floating stairs, and removing the LiDAR sensor allows the vacuum to glide smoothly under the first step without getting stuck. It also glides under all my furniture pieces given the required 3.14" clearance without any issues—no more being stuck under the stairs or low furniture such as low-frame beds.
I've tested more than seven different robo vacuums, and this one is by far the best! It has the most features, incredibly powerful, and highly efficient at keeping our floors spotless with daily cleaning. I have one for each floor, and they make a huge difference! In my opinion, this is the best robo vacuum on the market right now—it does so much and performs exceptionally well.
Plus, Roborock’s customer service is fantastic! I had a great experience with them.
I have 2 dogs and have been on the hunt for a good vacuum that will take care of my floors and keep hair off the baseboards….tired of hair balls rolling around.
I gave up trying to find one after trying Timco, Dyson, and Wyze. Then I heard about Roborock and thought why not try it. My floors are shiny clean, no more hair anywhere and the thing just flat out works. My kids joked they don’t have dog hair on their socks…and I vacuumed every day.
Setting aside that the vacuum mops and cleans better than I have did myself. The technology and app are amazing. It maps your house, lets you edit the rooms, determines what kind of floors you have and then goes and cleans them based off a schedule you create and the AI determines based on the type of flooring and how clean it is.
Highly recommend this product, especially if you are trying to keep up with pets.
I have hardwood, carpet, runners and bathroom mats, and it can handle off of them with ease.
Had a small issue with it not docking correctly and support not only resolved it, they followed up with emails to make sure it was still working days and then a few weeks later. Unheard of these days.
You will not be disappointed in paying what they charge….it just flat out works and keeps my house looking amazing.
Set up was easy! Plugged it in and it mapped out my main floor with ease! Next day, ran the complete cleaning cycle with both vacuuming and mopping! Only used water as I had no hard wood floor cleaner. Was “floored” (pun intended) at how dirty the water was! Have had it for about a month and have it vacuum twice a week (as we have a cat) and it’s keeping the house much cleaner! Would highly recommend this product!
The worse part was the maintenance. The dock was intimidating with small moving parts. This is where you’re covered with the Saros.
Pros;
Maintaining the robot.
Dock - When the app tells you it’s time, simply pull out the tray, visit the sink and wash it off. You can also run a self-cleaning any time from the app.
Robot - Truly maintenance free. The dual anti-tangle rollers have been the best version yet. My old robots would tangle the hair in the center and damage the roller.
Warranty- If buying new, Roborock will cover you through email support within 12 hours. I have only needed to use it once and they took care of me. Worse case, you ship it back to them for repairs or replacement and they cover the priority shipping - I would save the box for the first year just incase. The worst part.. we couldn’t find the old mop since the robot had been doing the floors excessively for the past several years.
Cons;
Patience - AI learning means it doesn’t know anything until it does. This means longer cleaning times, confusion with path finding and object recognition. I found if the cleaning area is complex and changes often, the robot will struggle to keep up with efficiency. Pay close attention to the features of the different models to find the best one for your home.
Price - Between Amazon and the Official Store, make sure you get the best deal. Amazon also had a great ‘used’ section which is how I saved big on my Rooma S9.
A big shout-out to customer support. The first order got lost in shipping. Customer support was helpful, promptly refunded the cost. Then also promptly refunded the price difference when I reordered.
This thing is amazing! It mops way better than my old robot, cleans better, reaches more places and is way QUIETER. The dock also has a detergent dispenser now. Charges way faster too. No regrets with this purchase what so ever.
The robot does navigate a tad bit slower than my older robot since it doesn’t have Lidar and the map is a taking more time to stabilize. I did set the same no go zones behind my couch and other places it can get stuck as any robot would struggle with these spots.
Overall I’m happy with this thing and look forward to using it a lot.
and it’s one of the best, I can video call and it has a camera that I can view! It’s very smart and isn’t too loud so it won’t disturb us, it cleans very good and the floor is so clean since I got this robot vacuum! The power brush gets every piece of dust, it’s very easy to use and I use it everyday to clean and mop! It’s never been easier to clean. The robot vacuum is so smart and never runs into the furniture, it’s very nice and can clean under the couch. It can find its home and I only have to click a button to clean the whole house.
It leaves mop behind on its own, no need to choose between manually take them off or super speeding the soiling of the bot base.
Plus it has a better corner coverage and keep cleaning if mop are dirty.
This one has been a huge improvement. It actually cleans—both vacuuming and mopping—and manages to navigate around furniture without getting lost or stranded. I was surprised at how thorough it is, especially around edges and corners.
It’s also nice not having to babysit it. It just does its thing and gets back to the dock without any drama. Way less hassle, and my floors have never looked better.
I chose the 10R over the 10 because spinning mops clean better than vibrating ones in my opinion. I was a little scared to try out the StarSight solid state lidar, rather than traditional lidar but decided to try this one because it can get under low clearance furniture, and there's less mechanical things that can break as opposed to a spinning lidar that retracts. I have to say, I think starlight navigation is the future. It navigates just as well if not better than all the other lidar robots I've owned, and has better obstacle avoidance.
I love that it has the flexi arms for the side brush and mop pad to mop right next to walls and get into corners that other robots cannot. I like that it can lift the brushes out of the way when mopping only, and it can lift or leave the mops behind in the dock when it's vacuuming only.
The Duo Divide main brush is a game-changer. I have a heavily shedding pug, and wife with very long hair – which, let's be honest, is usually what really gets wrapped around the main brushes. But this is literally the first robot vacuum I've ever used that doesn't get hair wrapped around the brush or its axles.
So far, the Saros 10R has shown better object detection / obstacle avoidance and I feel like I'll more than likely feel fine leaving it run when I'm not home. It even makes a note of where it sees my dog!
The app is great, and allows for the same customization as older roborock vacuums with no-go zones, etc. It also auto detects furniture and other items, even labeling them. While you'd think "why do I need a random item on the ground labeled?" - it actually helped me find a dog toy that went under a bathroom cabinet! I'd never have noticed or looked if not for the curious icon on my map.
The one change that some may find to be a "con", but I personally don't, is that it takes a little longer to clean than my S8 Pro Ultra did. To me, the length of time it takes doesn't make a big difference because the point is it's mostly working on its own without my help anyway. The fact that it's quieter and seems to be able to be trusted more to run without me making a quick run through the house to move obstacles is totally worth the tradeoff!
It's a great smart vacuum to be worth considering for those who want automated cleaning with advanced features!
I recently purchased the Roborock Saros 10R, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. This vacuum is a game-changer for keeping my floors spotless with minimal effort.
One of the standout features is how quiet it is. Even on higher suction settings, the noise level is impressively low compared to other robot vacuums I’ve used. It’s quiet enough to run while watching TV or having a conversation without it being a distraction.
The obstacle avoidance is also top-notch. The Saros 10R effortlessly navigates around furniture, shoes, and even stray cords without getting stuck. It senses and avoids obstacles with precision, meaning no more coming home to find it tangled up somewhere. It handles transitions between different floor types seamlessly and rarely needs intervention.
The app is incredibly intuitive and easy to use. Setting up cleaning schedules, adjusting suction power, and mapping rooms is simple. The real-time tracking and custom cleaning zones make it easy to target specific areas or avoid certain spaces. Plus, the integration with smart home assistants makes voice control a breeze.
Battery life is excellent, lasting long enough to cover a large area on a single charge. When it does need to recharge, it docks itself efficiently and resumes cleaning where it left off.
Overall, the Roborock Saros 10R is a fantastic investment for anyone looking for a quiet, intelligent, and efficient robotic vacuum. It’s a stress-free way to maintain clean floors, and I highly recommend it!
Additionally, in this generation of products, both the Saro 10R and Saro 10 have made significant improvements in preventing hair entanglement during vacuuming. They use two independent rollers, achieving zero hair tangling. In previous generations, cleaning hair from the rollers was one of the most troublesome tasks.
Compared to the previous S8 MaxV, which had a suction power of 10,000 Pa, the Saro 10R has been upgraded to 18,000 Pa. On my wooden floors, its performance remains consistently excellent. Additionally, with a thinner body than the previous generation, the Saro 10R can easily clean under low-clearance furniture.
On the software side, the interface and mapping are more intuitive, and the app allows users to set different cleaning modes and durations. Overall, as Roborock’s new product this year, the Saro 10R delivers outstanding performance. The development team has made great improvements based on customer needs, and I am very satisfied with the Saro 10R.
Setup was simple and quick, and the app is super intuitive. What really stands out is how quiet and thorough it is. We have both hardwood and rugs, and it handles the transition flawlessly. Pet hair? Gone. Dust bunnies under the couch? Also gone. And the self-emptying base is a total game-changer—I’ve barely had to think about maintenance.
I’ve tried a couple of other robot vacuums in the past and always ended up disappointed by how often they’d get stuck or miss spots. Not this one. It maps the house intelligently and just… gets the job done. Honestly feels like having an invisible helper around.
If you’re on the fence, just go for it. It’s not cheap, but if you want something that works reliably without constant babysitting, this is it.
The dual roller system is particularly effective, especially for homes with pets or long hair. Unlike many traditional brush designs, it doesn’t clog or require frequent cleaning. The mop attachment is also thoughtfully engineered—it detaches automatically when not in use, without the need for manual handling, which adds a layer of convenience when transitioning between vacuuming and mopping modes. Battery life is another strong point; the Saros 10R handles large areas on a single charge with no issues.
The software and mapping capabilities are robust. The device learns your home’s layout quickly and allows for detailed scheduling and zone control through the app, making it easy to tailor cleanings to specific needs.
There are, however, a few drawbacks. The dustbin compartment is relatively small, which means the vacuum returns to its station more frequently for auto-emptying. While this isn’t a major issue, it may affect cleaning efficiency in larger homes. Additionally, the overall design leans toward functional rather than stylish—it lacks vibrant color options or aesthetic variety. It’s also not particularly easy to carry, as it doesn’t include a built-in handle or ergonomic grip for transport.
Despite these minor shortcomings, the Roborock Saros 10R delivers strong performance, smart features, and reliable convenience, making it a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to simplify their home cleaning routine.
After the first command it cleaned the kitchen, living room, dining room and entryway with no other instructions. It easily made its way around and under any furniture, chairs and cabinets where it could physically fit, also easily transitioning from carpet to tile to hardwood.
This system can vacuum carpet with typical brushes and succussion and also mop using circular mop pads. Besides the typical dust bag used for the vacuuming the system will also clean and dry the mop pads in the docking station after each mopping run. The vacuum does a great job picking up the cat hair from the carpet and bare floors and the light alows it to run during the night.
The clean water and dirty water reservoirs are easily removable from the top of the dock when needed.
The system can also make a map of where it has been. This allows you to program the system to clean the rooms you want cleaned at different times or days.
You can control the system by voice commands or from the Roborock App. There are over 30 commands that can be given like Mop Only, Empty the dustbin, increase vacuum intensity, Reduce mopping, Clean the kitchen, Clean the study.
The Roborock Saros 10R stands out with its minimalist contemporary design, featuring smooth curves and a matte-finished body. Its seamlessly integrated hidden LIDAR and touch control panel exude a high-tech vibe, allowing it to blend effortlessly into any smart home environment.
When it comes to cleaning performance, the Saros 10R delivers flagship-level capabilities—its 4000Pa ultra-strong suction effortlessly tackles deep-seated dust in carpets, while the dual-spinning mop system with pressure scrubbing thoroughly eliminates stubborn stains. Equipped with AI-powered route planning, it intelligently detects obstacles, achieving efficient, collision-free coverage.
What's particularly impressive is its ability to maintain outstanding cleaning performance even in low-noise mode. Paired with the self-emptying dock, it truly offers a hands-free cleaning experience. Whether in design aesthetics or cleaning efficiency, the Saros 10R redefines the benchmark for premium robot vacuums.
App is smart, maps the house fast, lets you set cleaning zones. Downsides? Small dustbin, so it empties often. Kinda plain-looking, not pretty. No handle, hard to carry. But still, it’s good—cleans well and makes life easier.
Way better than any of the models I tried with iRobot. Worth the plunge for the cost.
My only gripe would be it scratched itself up badly on a mat in my kitchen that pushed it into the corner of the bottom of the dishwasher. Didn’t affect function at all. I would buy this 10x over.
I have a 100lb who is a messy hairy and rough boy (brings dirt debris etc into the house) his mess is no match.
It would be nice to have a mobile alert on when it needs to be moved from different levels but I would assume it’s going to be an update in the future.
There were improvements in other areas that I did not expect, such as navigation and obstacle avoidance. With the S8 Pro Ultra, in order to keep it from getting stuck in a few key sport, I had to add a few "no go" zones on my map. With the Saros 10R, I forgot to add them to my map, and discovered that it automatically avoided all of them without any intervention. Both the vacuum and mop functions of the Saros 10R are also notably quieter than the S8 Pro Ultra.
The Saros 10R comes with an "AI" cleaning mode that claims to automatically adapt to my needs, in addition to all of the standard modes available on my previous Roborock. I find the things it does a little confusing at times, such as double mopping a room that I didn't think needed it. It's not a big deal, but it's odd. I hope that improves over time.
I still have a withlist for this model. If it were available, I would have bought it in white, and I would have bought it with the refill and drainage system available on the S8 Max Ultra. I was told by customer support before buying that such a model may be released eventually, but I opted not to wait for it.
