   I Was a lil worried dropping $400 on a Bluetooth speaker. I figured I would support a Texas company so I went this route instead of $1500 flush mount stereo install for my Havoc 15/56 Jon boat. I’m happy I did, the sound is impressive, size is perfect, extremely durable, waterproof with excellent battery life. I strap this lil guy to the top of my ol school Rtic 20qt Roadie cooler and cruise down the Sabine River. I don’t have to worry about my batteries being drained while hangin out on the sandbars or corroded wiring. If your on the fence about one of these just do it. It’s only money, buy once cry once!

   This is actually an update for a bad review I gave Turtlebox. I had two turtleboxes that wouldn't play well when playing as a pair in stereo from my phone. Also, the audio was not of impressive quality at all. I will say their customer service is a little slow Emailing them back and forth, however once they verified that I indeed had bought two, they sent me return labels. When they received them they decided to send me two new ones at no charge. I don't know what the problem was, the new ones have much better sound quality, and don't cut out like the old ones. I have played them for several days, one day for 5 hours straight without a single hiccup in sound quality. It appears there is no more problem. It sucks that this happened, however Turtlebox made it right. I'm happy.

   I got the speakers, and I loved them. Then I couldn’t get the Bluetooth to work on the second one. The company did not hesitate… Even though I bought it through Amazon… Put another one in the mail with a return label for the “defective” one. As it turns out… I was the one who is defective. Ha ha. I was doing it wrong. I called them and let them know. I would be returning the new one back to them because my son had actually taught me how to use the Bluetooth on my original second one. The sound absolutely fills at my backyard. It sounds like I have a DJ back there. I am a 60 year old woman who is looking to put some ambience in her backyard to help deflect some of the noise from the business behind my home. I could not be more pleased. I have left them out in the Phoenix heat several days in a row. They seem to be absolutely unaffected by the heat… And the batteries last forever! I am so happy I spent the money on the speakers.

   Bought this for a pool party VRBO weekend, was a hit compared with generic JBL/Sony consumer bluetooth speakers. Throws sound with good authority from a distance. Battery lasts a long time (most of the day at mid-volume for background music at pool). Fun to float in a pool speaker-up (even a little water on the speaker will subdue the sound but it's completely dunkable). Will be great for future pool parties and float trips. From a distance (across a yard), the 6x9 speaker has more punch and fills the air better than generic. bluetooth speakers but it's no better for small areas or close play. I'm keeping it because it's well made and sounds great in open areas. I had a Soundboks but returned it because it was overpowering and giant. Bought my son a Demerbox years ago which he loves and also sounds great but I thought the Turtlebox 6x9 speaker might be an advantage over twin 3" speakers for group parties and no regrets with the Turtlebox.

   Whenever I turn volume up over 50%, the audio cuts out and requires a power cycle to get it back. Have tried connecting to different devices - same problem. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting - nothing. It is “super loud” except I only get to use half of that loudness :(
   
   Edit: I filled out the customer service form on their website and someone emailed me the same day. They are shipping me a replacement speaker and labels to be able to mail the defective one back at no cost to me. Customer service has been on point!

   Just the obvious thing for me. I did feel that the Gen 1 was louder and the battery did last longer on it than the Gen 2. But I did love the gen 2 new handle and more user friendly buttons. One is good enough for a gathering but 2 is awesome for a party. If you are Hispanic, I connected 2 for a backyard quincenera and various Mexican parties. And it was enough for people to enjoy some dancing and conversation.
   Also, I was able to play 2 with separate audios. One was playing Disney music for kids on one side of the yard and the other country music for us and I did not hear too much overlapping. You can walk towards one side and all you hear is the specific music for that area. Unfortunately I never got mine from Amazon and had gotten a full refund, so I went to turtleboxs website.

   I've had a JBL boombox for several years and have been very satisfied with it. Recently, I bought two Turtlebox speakers, and they are unbelievable. When paired together, they make you feel like you're at a concert. They are much louder than the old JBL. Interestingly, the sound is very directed. When the speakers are pointed at you, you can crank up the volume, but it won't be too loud for people nearby, like at a campsite. It's really impressive.

   I was on the edge about the price of the unit..... EVERYONE!! Worth every penny. This unit is legit 👌
   A small amount of people complained about the bass. If you set this unit in the right corner and or floor and wall position... nice sound. Not going to have car shaking, windows rattling bass, it's just sound enhanced clarity that works for this unit.
   I have only one negative comment about this unit. It is heavy. I suggest the shoulder strap option for the True hiker, camper, ect.

But much like a stalker it came back into my life over and over. So I bought the Mossy Oak version. The sound is incredible. We used it for a town hall teams meeting recently and now…I need another one. Also great for neighborhood drive in theater night. Get you some.

   Very picky when it comes to speakers and how music sounds at higher volumes. This thing checks all the boxes. Great lows, doesn’t lose crispness when loud. Yes, it’s pricey but if you’re looking for big quality sound that is durable, this is it. Battery life is awesome too.
   
   Only con I would say is the charging cable. Wish there was a USB adapter. The custom cable and saying you have to use theirs is a bit limiting. Not a huge deal tho.

   I got this for my grandson‘s 21st birthday. The sound is amazing and I had a JBL box 3 to compare it to.
   
   As I said, the sound is amazing and my grandson loves the style. He first pointed it out to me at an NC State game I believe. We passed three pickup trucks side by side, each one had a Turtlebox on the hood. He explained to me how incredible they were with such passion that I decided then in there it was gonna be his birthday present. We have all really, really enjoyed it. Thanks for making such a great product. Now, if you could do it a little cheaper….😘
