First off, I am not a “Vine” reviewer. Not say there is anything wrong with the program but this was a purchase made by me.
I have been in constant conversations with Beatbot on the need to update their firmware. Finally a new version dropped, and this thing is no longer getting stuck on the shelf edge and the weir flap has changed its operation to keep stuff it already trapped from getting out. They did this by changing the timing of the flap opening and closing as it speeds up and slows down as it approaches edges or sides of the pool.
It still REALLY cleans the bottom well and now no longer having stalled jobs or having it report “floating” when it shouldn’t.
This is a solid product and I have updated my rating to reflect that. If you haven’t updated your firmware, please do so.
Original Review Below
I was super excited to get this in my pool. I have a 16x32 rectangular pool with a tanning ledge. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Pros: It REALLY sucks up the bottom debris and even handles the pollen, trapping it in the filter baskets. Climbs the walls and does the water line pretty well.
Runtime was very good and recharge time was also very good.
I attempted to contact support through the app and we did start conversations about firmware updates to resolve some of the minor issues I observed with the top water cleaning.
I actually got an email from one of their techs that advised one of my suggestions was already in the development cycle for the next release of firmware
Cons: need to release firmware to address minor issues
Once I have a chance to load the new firmware and go through a cycle of cleanings, I think things will be fine.
Original review:
Our pool is open year-round because we live in Houston. Many of our trees drop their leaves in January and February so for us, it is currently in early March 2025, we just had an active time of fresh leaves falling into the pool that still needs cleaning on the surface and on the bottom. We have been using this for 48 hours.
The thing we are disappointed in is it we thought you could control this with the app, but there is no Wi-Fi connectivity when it is under the water, which is where it is most of the time. I just reread all of the product information to make sure what the claims were compared to reality, and if you read very carefully, you will see that multiple functions can only be performed and commanded if the device is on the surface of the water, which is rare. Only one time has it come to the surface when it was at 9% battery for a recharge.
The device when dry and empty is heavy and when it is underwater and filled with debris, it is very difficult to get out of the pool due to the heavy weight. It must be removed from the pool to empty the debris and to charge it.
It mapped the pool into a shape a bit different than reality. It also has not done an even cleaning on the sides (which currently have dead algae on it) so you can also visually see where it ran up and down the sides and where it has not.
Comparing to Dolphin: In 2022 we purchased a Dolphin, it is temperamental, it is okay. It does a good job at bottom cleaning but we have a need for surface cleaning for the heavy pollen and the flower petals and small oak leaves that like to float on the surface. A problem is it tends to go to one corner of the pool and it just stays there, doing an incomplete and insufficient job. We were still looking for solutions, so...
In October 2024, we ordered the BeatBot i-skim ultra because we really liked the way that it could skim and that it was cordless. So we were running both the Dolphin for the bottom and sides and the i-skim for the surface cleaning since October 2024. BUT the Dolphin cord bunches up and gets in the way of the surface cleaning BeatBot i-skim ultra. So…we were still looking fir more options, this we could not resist trying this new BeatBot so we could switch to just one unit to use for all the jobs: surface, sides, and bottom.
If we figure anything out that is different or see anything else of note I will edit this review with dates for clarity of the experience.
At the time of this writing, there aren't that many product details, so I'll fill you in. This is the Beatbot AquaSense 2 ULTRA, which is the top of the line for Beatbot, and new for 2025.
I've tested several of the Beatbots, including the first generation Aquasense, and they're all fantastic robots. But this one packs in features that really blow my mind.
I've played with thing all day for the past two days (I'm really smitten with it), and will highlight some of my favorite features below. But first some caveats:
It's heavy. The dry weight (when empty) is about 31 pounds. This is the heaviest cordless robotic vacuum I've ever tested. When you pack in all those features, and the large battery, it unavoidably adds weight.
Second, I'm skeptical this is truly AI. It definitely uses an AI camera, but true AI is a learning system and I suspect this simply follows pre-programmed rules. The term AI is used loosely in marketing, and that may be a technical distinction that most people don't care about. Either way, the ULTRA is truly impressive in all it's sensors and cameras, object detection, smart navigation – the most impressive I've seen.
Here is my reservation, though. I used a scope camera to take a peek inside, and this has a TON of electronics in there. A CPU, motherboard, cameras, ELEVEN motors and TWENTY-SEVEN sensors! I'm beyond impressed, but that also means there are a lot of things in here that could go wrong. Fortunately they have a 3 year warranty, but this level of sophistication often comes with high maintenance requirements.
I am further concerned that its heavy weight and technical aspects may pose a challenge for some users.
Either way, keep the manual in a safe place because you will likely need it for reference, such as interpreting the display lights and error lights. I recommend taking backup photos of it, or downloading it and keeping it on your PC.
But the main question – is the ULTRA worth it?
I have to admit that I am perfectly happy with my first gen AquaSense. Actually my setup last year was the Aquasense (basic) for floors and walls, and a separate/dedicated solar-powered skimmer to leave in the pool permanently (only remove from the water to empty the basket). I was perfectly happy with that setup and has to ask myself whether the ULTRA offered a bunch of features that are kindof superfluous.
But undeniably, the ULTRA has a larger motor, larger battery, longer run time, and the skim feature. So it cleans faster, and it cleans everything (just not stairs - more on that later).
Here are some of the features that stand out to me:
The instructions are very thoughtful, parts are laid out clearly, and the boxes are numbered. But it is a commitment - takes an hour to unbox, assemble, and read the manual.
The dual filter basket is a big perk that is often overlooked. You can't put a fine media filter in la pool robot, it would restrict the flow of water. But you can use two filters on top of each other, which is brilliant and very few brands do this. The baskets are also designed to clog less frequently, and be cleaned out more easily. So the robot doesn't beep at you until it's actually full - resulting in more cleaning time, more effective cleaning.
Most pool robots use apps simply for novelty. But the BeatBot app is actually useful, providing data, status, and customization options. Please note, however, that you can run the robot without the app – it does have simple manual controls on top, with verbal feedback.
I was curious about those side rollers – the ULTRA is the only model that has them. Initially I thought they were extra scrubbers, but they are not. They're actually for the skimmer function - they help the robot swim on the surface and sweep items into the mouth. They also help keep the items in the basket – one thing about skimmers is that when they stop or turn corners, the leaves can drift back out of the basket. That doesn't happen as much with the ULTRA. Also the ULTRA has a cool robotic door to open and close when it's in skimmer mode.
Here is some basic info about the battery life:
4.5 hours to charge
4.5 hours of multi-function cleaning or wall climbing
5 hours of floor cleaning
9.5-10 hours of surface cleaning
Stairs are always a concern for pool robots. I don't have stairs, so I can't test it. But I can say that the AI camera prevents it from getting hung up on stairs. As far as I understand it doesn't clean the stairs, but I know they've been working on it, and may have a firmware update at some point in the future to address this issue.
I have some reservations, but honestly this is the coolest pool-related tech I've ever seen.
The AquaSense 2 Ultra will vacuum the pool floor, walls, waterline and also skim the pool surface. It uses their app which is available at the Apple app site. You can program a cleaning via the buttons on the robot or the app, it does not lose the internet connection and does an unbelievable job. The vac has no problem moving up and down the pool floor and does an amazing job vacuuming the floor, walls and waterline, the photo shows how high it travels out of the water to scrub the tile at the water line. This model did pick up all debris thought there wasn't much as I vacuumed the pool the prior day. It did pick up some grit like fine sand as the pool was just recently resurfaced. In addition to vacuuming and skimming the surface the AquaSense 2 Ultra will also dispense clarifier at the push of a button. The clarifier cartridge comes with the unit. Also included is a hook to retrieve the vac, it can be attached to a standard pool pole (not included.) Instructions are straight forward, nothing is complex or tricky to get the vacuum up and running.
Charging took about 90 minutes, wait until the green light is solid, not flashing for a full charge, the app will also show the charge %. It vacuumed the pool floor and walls yesterday running for 176 minutes, that's almost 3 hours (the app shows how long it vacs).
I will add an update when I have the skimmer in action, currently there is nothing of the water's surface.
As a Vine member I did not pay for the product; never-the-less my review is unbiased.
The Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra in its striking Ice Blue is not just a pool cleaner; it's a technological marvel that promises to liberate you from the drudgery of pool maintenance. After weeks of testing in my complex, oddly shaped pool, I'm ready to share my in-depth experience.
First Impressions & Setup:
Unboxing the AquaSense 2 Ultra felt like unwrapping a premium gadget. The robot itself is sleek and robust, and the included charging dock is equally well-constructed. Setting it up was surprisingly straightforward. The instructions were excellent and it required minimal assembly The initial pool mapping using the AI camera was a bit nerve-wracking as I didn't know what to expect, but the robot navigated my pool's curves and steps with impressive accuracy.
Performance: It's A Cleaning Powerhouse!
5-in-1 Cleaning Mastery:
This isn't just a bottom-dweller. The AquaSense 2 Ultra tackles the walls, waterline, and even the water surface with aplomb. The dedicated surface cleaning mode is a revelation, scooping up leaves and debris before they sink.
The water clarification feature, while subtle, did contribute to a noticeable improvement in water clarity over time.
AI-Powered Mapping & Navigation:
The AI camera and mapping are the stars of the show. The robot intelligently cleans every nook and cranny, avoiding obstacles and ensuring comprehensive coverage. It handles my pool's complex shape with far greater efficiency than previous robotic cleaners I've used.
It also is very good at moving around obstacles such as pool stairs, and toys that may be left in the pool.
Powerful Suction & Filtration:
The suction power is formidable, effortlessly picking up leaves, debris, and even fine silt. The dual filtration system effectively traps particles, leaving the water sparkling.
Smart Surface Parking:
The convenience of the robot automatically returning to the waterline for easy retrieval is a game-changer. No more fishing around the deep end!
Cordless Freedom:
Being cordless is a huge plus. No tangled cables, and no need to worry about power outlets near the pool.
Pros:
Exceptional Cleaning Performance: Comprehensive cleaning across all pool surfaces.
Intelligent AI Mapping & Navigation: Handles complex pools with ease.
5-in-1 Functionality: Versatile cleaning modes for all pool needs.
Powerful Suction & Filtration: Effective debris removal.
Smart Surface Parking: Convenient retrieval.
Cordless Design: Untethered freedom.
High-Quality Build: Durable and well-engineered.
Water surface cleaning is a huge plus.
Cons:
Price: This is a premium product with a premium price tag.
Initial Mapping Time: The initial mapping process can take a while, especially for larger pools.
Occasional Missed Spots: While generally thorough, it occasionally misses small areas, especially in very tight corners.
App can be improved: while functional, the app could be more user friendly. I do love how you can manually control the robot with the app if you want to get that stray leaf or dirty spot without cleaning the entire pool.
Weight: When removing the unit from the pool, it is somewhat heavy.
Final Verdict:
The Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra is a significant investment, but for pool owners seeking the ultimate cleaning solution, it's worth every penny!!! Its AI-powered mapping, 5-in-1 functionality, and cordless design make it a standout performer. While the price and occasional minor hiccups are worth noting, the overall performance and convenience are undeniable. If you're tired of pool maintenance and want a robot that truly delivers, the AquaSense 2 Ultra is a top contender. I highly recommend it for those with complex pools, and those who want the best automated cleaning experience possible.
highly 100% recommend it.
Setting up the app on you cell phone and connect the units WiFi was simple and straight forward, with no issues. The unit has four modes of cleaning: Floor, Standard (floor, walls & waterline), Pro mode (does everything standard, plus the surface) or define a custom routine. For the first run, I went with Standard mode.
You then place the unit on a level surface for about 5 seconds, select the cleaning mode you want and it ready to go in the water. The unit took about 2 minutes to dive to the bottom of the pool. Once it is under the water, it loses connectivity to WiFi and you have to wait till it is on the surface to change the settings.
The first thing it does is to go all around the pool’s walls, touching the walls a bunch of times as it worked its way around the pool. I assume it was mapping the shape of the pool. The unit then went to work cleaning the bottom of the pool, working back and forth the long way. When it finished with the bottom, it then climbs the walls until it was partially out of the water, cleaning the walls and the tiles at the water line. It even climbs onto the steps and cleans them. When it was all done. It parked itself on the surface and I got a notification on the phone via the app. Looking at the app (see pic) it shows feet cleaned, time it took, a "map" of the pool with the path it used. It also shows the charge state of the unit.
Once I took it out of the pool, the voice command told me to wash out the filter basket. After cleaning the basket, the unit had drained, and I put on the charger. It did a good job at cleaning the pool and I really like the fact that it does the walls and waterline. They supply a hook to retrieve the unit from the pool in case the battery dies. The hook attaches to a standard pool pole.
The unit is not cheap, but it reduces the running time of the pool pump, you don't have the hose that connects to the old fashion creeper and you can run it overnight, so the pool is ready the next morning. In my opinion an exceptional unit!
If you hate pool maintenance but love a sparkling clean swim, it worth every penny
CLEANING PERFORMANCE Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra: Its 5-in-1 cleaning capabilities (surfaces, waterline, floors, walls, and even water clarification) are impressive. The AI mapping feature generally covers the entire pool without missing a spot, but I noticed that it sometimes struggled in very tight corners. The AI Cruise Debris Detection is great for locating debris, but occasionally misses smaller particles, especially fine sand.
Among the officially advertised technical features, it comes with an AI camera, dual TOF sensors, and ultrasonic technology AI mapping sounds futuristic, and for the most part, it works well. However, the AI features can sometimes overcomplicate simple cleaning tasks by unnecessarily recalculating paths. The ClearWater water purification system is a nice touch, though its effectiveness varies depending on pool size and debris type.
Secondly the product's app is user-friendly, but it would have been nice to offer more robust connectivity - though it disconnects after going into underwater work. The filter is simple to clean, though the dust bin fills up quickly if there is a lot of leaf debris in the pool.
Price:
It is definitely on the high side for the price. While it offers advanced features and consistent performance, I can't ignore the fact that others offer decent features at a lower price. If you're tech-savvy and like smart features, then it's worth the investment. But if you just want to do basic pool cleaning without all the fiddly features, then the cheaper options may be more cost-effective.
Final Thoughts.
If you value smart features and advanced technology, the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra is definitely the way to go. It has made my pool maintenance much easier, but it's not without its quirks. If you have a small, simple pool, you probably don't need all the high-tech features.
Its price is perfect for what you can do with it.
The robot is large - probably a little larger than the original Aquasense - but a new camera and edge brushes have been added to it. It is still fairly simple to use and you simply take it out of its charging cradle and slip it in the water. The robot will submerge much like a submarine does by sucking in water as ballast. This beatbot version seems a whole lot more methodical in its approach. The previous version cleaned very well and has served us very well, but this one follows a very intentional zig-zag pattern as shown in the app picture. The first time out it managed to wedge itself very well between the table and bench, but I have since added a couple concrete blocks to keep it out of that corner. I wish I could create a virtual wall like floor cleaning robots, but since the pool robots don't have a standard point of reference, they wouldn't know where that would be every time. I didn't notice that the robot now uses a headlight when running after dark which I had never seen before.
Once the robot is finished, it will surface and dock by the edge. Full of water this robot is a little heavy, but not to bad to drag over the side. The filter picks up very fine particles and the suction will actually pull in small branches as well. Cleaning the basket is easy with a hose and doesn't have too many nooks and crannies for things to get stuck. The new edge cleaning brushes come into play when it is cleaning the surface, which was a liability for the previous models, but these fix the skimming problem they had before. It did a very good job picking up floating debris and actually has a remote function on the app to help it.
Overall, this is an extremely nice pool robot and is priced accordingly. I can honestly say that Beatbot is at the top of the robots for ease of use and functionality. I have had experience with their technical support in the past and they made software updates to my robot over the internet without me sending it in, which is a huge plus in my book. I can't see how anyone would be disappointed with this robot.
The original one performed flawlessly with absolutely no problems so we were confident that the new unit would be the same.
This newest version has a lot of sensory enhancements over the previous model. It also has additional propellers, side brushes, and side rollers.
We've been really impressed with how thoroughly it cleans the pool. It picks up large debris as well as the very fine stuff. The double mesh basket really catches everything. We really like the additions of the side brushes as well.
This new unit is slightly larger than the previous one. We've Had absolutely no regrets getting rid of the polaris pool cleaner with the hose and booster setup.
It's really amazing watching this thing clean and even climbing up the sides of the pool and even scrubbing the tiles above the water line! Check it out in my video.
The entire thing is extremely easy to set up. The quick start guide is really simple, and the app works great. And the new one even talks to you!
This new unit came with everything including the cover, retrieval hook and even the clarifying cartridge. Personally we've never had a problem with cloudy water so I don't think the clarifying feature will be needed in our case, not regularly at least.
When we got the first Beatbot cleaner, my wife was concerned about having to haul the unit out of the pool, clean the basket and put it back on its charging stand. She now readily admits that it's much less hassle than dealing with the old Polaris cleaner. And... no more hoses!
As to maintenance, we've had to do none on the previous unit with a little over a year's worth of use.
I was curious how the silicone scrubbing Brushes would hold up and was also curious how well the fine mesh screens in the basket would hold up.
Neither of these items show any wear at all after over a year's use.
We couldn't be happier with the performance and reliability of this pool cleaner.
As it is, this is my preliminary review which I will update after I’ve had a chance to test it fully. So, as it stands, I’ll cover what I like so far, what I’m a bit unsure about, and why I think it might still be worth the rather eye-popping price tag currently at $4758. I’ll give it a full test in the spring, and if it doesn’t blow me away, I’ll be sure to update my thoughts.
I’ll start with the basics, then move on to performance features, some potential downsides, and my final preliminary impressions.
Setup & First Impressions: The AquaSense 2 Ultra looks pretty cool and sleek despite. However, it is pretty heavy, weighing in at just over 13kg. It’s cordless and has a big 13,400 mAh battery. It takes about 4.5 hurs to charge, and run times varies depending on the task - up to 10 hours if it’s mostly surface-skimming, or around 4.5 hours on a full floor-cleaning or wall cycle. This should be ample for most pools. Beatbot suggests that the battery should be capable of cleaning 320 square meters (3,444 square feet) pools in a single cycle. It’s also capable of operating up to 9.84 feet deep.
One thing I really like right off the bat, apart from all the technology in this thing, is the “surface parking” and “one-touch app retrieval” feature. Once it’s done cleaning (or if the battery runs low), it automatically floats over to a designated spot near the water’s edge. This is super convenient and means I won’t have to fish around with a hook and haul up a waterlogged machine from the deep end, which is a pain that I’ve often had to do with other auto cleaners I’ve tried. It’s may seem like a small detail, but it’s definitely a friction point, which should save me time and frustration.
Performance & Features: Even though I haven’t tested it in my own pool, I’ve delved pretty deeply into what the AquaSense 2 Ultra promises, and am basing it on my experiences with the pro model which is similar, albeit not as advanced as the ultra. The ultra’s got a 5-in-1 cleaning system (water surface, waterline, floor, walls, and water clarification). According to Beatbot, the device uses a combination of AI cameras, ultrasonic sensors, and infrared detection (HybridSense AI Pool Mapping) to actually map your pool, detect leftover debris, and systematically clean every inch. I’ve had past cleaners I’ve owned that just sort of wandered randomly until time was up, leaving me to manually clean the missing and problem spots. This would require me to pull out the vacuum, etc.. and really detracted from the whole ‘automatic’ feature. The Beatbot Ultrat should in theory, “learn” my pool and plan its route, and cleaner the whole pool
I’m intrigued, and a little skeptical, of the dual side brushes, which are supposed to help funnel floating debris or gunk at the edges into the main suction path. This is something that I find some robotic cleaners struggle with, and in theory should help this one out a bit (we’ll see) though in truth i’m less concerned with surface skimming.
It also has a clarifier system (ClearWater™) which is handy but not that economical. The idea is that it releases small amounts of eco-friendly clarifying agents to clump finer particles, which the filter then traps. If you live somewhere with a lot of fine dust and debris blowing into the pool, that could really help improve the water quality. That said, the drawback is the cost. You can buy a bottle clarifier that will last several seasons for a fraction of the price of the beatbot clarifier cartridge. That said, it may be worth it for those looking for the true all in one solution.
Price & Value: At $4758, it’s undeniably in the premium range. But if it legitimately does the complete bottom, sides, steps and waterline scrubbing, as well as surface skimming, that might well be worth the investment—especially if you factor in your time and/or the cost of a pool service over the long haul. If you’re someone who might only want basic floor cleaning, you can find cheaper alternatives, but you’ll have to supplement them. But for me, I’m getting older, and after going through so many cleaners that only do half the job, I’m thinking the math works out for ease of maintenance for those looking for a consistently clean pool

Final Thoughts (for now): From what I can tell, this is the first robotic cleaner that appears to checks off EVERY box on my wish list: mapping technology to avoid missing spots, actual step-cleaning, waterline scrubbing, a solid app with targeted cleaning, and even surface skimming. The convenience mapping, waterline scrubbing, and surface parking features alone makes a big difference. Extra features like the clarifier system might not be on my list, but could be a hidden gem for those that have to deal with fine sediment and looking for the complete cleaning package.
The obvious caveat: I haven’t run it in my own pool yet, so I can’t vouch for how smoothly all these features will work in practice. I’ve been impressed with the design and the technology on paper, but the real test will come when I toss it in the pool this spring. If it doesn’t deliver on these promises, you can bet I’ll be back with an update. That all said, I have had some experience with the pro model, and was very impressed. These two share similarities so I’m expecting the performance to be on par if not better which has me excited.
For now, if you’re looking for a high-end, do-it-all solution, the AquaSense 2 Ultra is the one to keep an eye on—if you can handle the price of admission. That said, it make sense for those that place a premium price on their own time, and are looking for a consistently clean pool. It’s also certainly cheaper than a long-term pool service, and should give you a level of automated cleaning that older or less advanced models can’t match. Once the weather warms up and I open the pool, I'll put it through its paces and provide an update!
The pool vacuum arrived very well packaged. In addition to the pool vacuum itself, it comes with a charging dock, a cover, a clarifying kit, a screwdriver, a quick start guide, and a user manual.
This robot is a 5-in-1 robotic pool vacuum. It cleans the floor, walls, waterline, and surface, and it will clarify the water.
There is an app that you can install on your phone that connects via 2.4G/5G Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. This app allows you to customize your cleaning and monitor the cleaning process of the robot. It will even tell you the temperature of the water. I really like having this option to monitor the robot's progress remotely.
What really sets this robot aside from any other that I have seen or used is the built in AI and front-facing camera. This allows the robot to create the most efficient route for cleaning even with uneven floors and uniquely shaped pools. The AI smart debris detection will see areas of the pool that are the dirtiest and make sure they are cleaned.
Surface cleaning is done very well with the dual side brushes that push the debris into the robot.
The robot will not only clean your walls and corners but it will also go above the waterline to clean the waterline which is often the part of the pool that gets the dirtiest.
You can load clarifying agent into the robot that will help to keep your water clear. The clarifying agent is all natural and helps to clump smaller particles so that they can be vacuumed up. The clarifying agent is a consumable and needs to be purchased when it is used up.
Another very unique feature that I really like is the above surface parking. Most robots stop on the bottom of the pool and you need to retrieve them with a hook. This one however, will park itself above the surface when it is finished or if the battery is low for very easy retrieval. This for me is a game changer. If for any reason you need to get your vacuum out of the pool and stop cleaning, you can click on the app and it will park!
The battery is a huge 13400 mAh battery that will give you up to 5 hours of floor cleaning and 4.5 hours of wall and waterline cleaning. You can then charge your robot wirelessly in the supplied docking station. It takes about 4.5 hours to fully charge.
This robotic pool vacuum does everything well. It will clean any size or shaped pool efficiently from top to bottom and despite all of the amazing features built in it is very easy to use and has a very short learning curve.
The technology packed into this robot is amazing. I have never seen a robotic pool vacuum with so many features. The nice thing is they all work well to make the robotic pool vacuum work better and more efficiently.
As mentioned at the top of this review. You do get what you pay for and yes, this robotic pool vacuum is at a premium price but is worth every penny. The 3 year FULL replacement warranty is the longest warranty I have seen with a robotic pool vacuum and gives you piece of mind that the BEATBOT is standing behind their product.
If you are looking for the absolute best robotic pool cleaner then this is it, hands down! I have seen nothing on the market that even comes close. Only wish I could give it 6 stars.
The Beatbot can clean pools with an area up to 320 square meters (3,444 square feet) in a single cycle. Larger pools can be cleaned but will require additional cycles. The swimming pool robot will capture debris of all sizes, including leaves, hair, sand and insects. It can filter particles as small as 150 micrometers.
The AquaSense 2 Ultra can work in a depth range of 1.31 to 9.84 ft. While most pool cleaning robots cannot clean steps, the AquaSense Ultra can clean steps if the steps are wide enough to support cleaning operations and the water depth on the steps is greater than 0.98 ft. It will clean the corners of your pool as well.
If your robot is on a full charge, it can operate to ten hours continuous runtime for surface cleaning, to five hours continuous runtime for floor cleaning and also to four point five hours continuous runtime for walls + waterline cleaning.
Charging time is four and one half hours. The AquaSense 2 Ultra supports dual connectivity: 5G/2.4G WiFi or 2.4G Bluetooth. The unit can be controlled with an app but only when operating on the water surface.
AquaSense 2 Ultra features a dual side brush system that precisely sweeps surface debris toward the suction inlet.
This model is an upgrade form the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro. Which one is right for you and how do you decide? Well, here are some key feature differences. The Ultra is only slightly heavier and slightly bigger than the Pro. The Ultra has AI Cruise Debris Detection and AI Independent Multi-Platforms Cleaning while the Pro does not have these features. The Ultra also has the benefit of eleven motors vs. the Pro's nine motors. Similar to most products, the advanced model will provide you with additional features but both models get the job done for you.
This Ultra model also includes a nice genuine dust and waterproof cover for keeping your robot protected from the elements. This is most definitely a top of the line pool cleaner. Your pool is a significant investment. The investment in a robotic pool cleaner will keep your pool clean and save you from doing the manual labour of having to clean the pool.
Simple things first. Very neatly packaged. Nothing damaged and everything inside well organized. It even comes with a large placemat with step by step instructions to lay things out on. Minimal assembly required. You need to add on the scrubbers to the side brushes (just make a note of how they attach as one end is made to overlap the other, not mentioned in the step by step) and the legs/supports to the charging station. Simple. I guess it does make it even more prominent that the unit is water tight when you don't really need to do anything else to the unit.
Came fully charged, but placed it on the charger to make sure. Connection to the App was easy through BT, and the app itself is easy to navigate.
The cleaner agent provided was definetly new to me so I had to hop on their website. All natural and made from crab shells. Not really sure how it works but apparently it is supposed to help in binding the smaller particles together to make filtering and collection easier. Considering the screen on ht filter basket is finer than the reusable filter basket in my coffee maker, I think it would work fine without it. It is supposed to help the clarity of the water as well but that depends on so many other conditions that it is hard to say. For that I think they may have over engineered the cleaning solution. By the looks of it though they did make it a universal item between their units, so you can buy a 2 pack from their site for $50, they didn't make a completly new one for this unit and they used a tried and tested design.
The unit is not light but not really heavy either, and considering I have never used something like this before I don't find anything wrong with the weight. Nice solid built in handle to carry it by plus they provide a hook attachement for your pool pole so you don't need to bend over too far.
I think the manual was not updated before this model was sent out ans it stated there are screws for the side brushes. No screws needed. One less thing to worry about. It includes a great description of dissassembly for cleaning, what to remove, how to clean and such. A bit of discrepency on run time as well since the site claims 9.5 hours of run time but the manual says 4.5hrs. Actual run time wil vary on the cycle you select as the unit will need to pump in and out ballast for side walls and use more ppower for propulsion for surface/skimming. Nice thing though is that when the battery gets low or cleaning is done, it surfaces and waits for recovery. No need to go fishing.
Function wise, awesome. Like I said I have nothing to compare it to though. The AI, in my opinion, is like the original robot floor vacuums that mapped out a room by bumping into things and mapping my remembering. Can I tell that it notices more dirt in a certain location and goes back to make sure it is clean? What I can tell you is that it is pretty quick at mapping out a cleaning path. I am assuming that the sensors and cameras, besides detecting larger debris, help to navigate sloped areas as ballast would need to be adjusted. Hence why you calibrate it on a flat surface before placing it in the pool.
As my first robotic pool cleaner I am really impressed with the functions and capabilities of this unit. All the technology that went into it does have me a bit worried about doing regular firmware updates though, but since the company has been around for awhile and seems to be going strong, this shouldn't be an issue. Just need to remember to register it for any updates.
Price point, it is well above the price of any other units on Amazon. Is it worth it for the longer runtime and all the AI features? If you have a bigger fancy pool with multiple levels, corners or odd shapes, then I would lean towards yes. As it is something that you can put in the water first thing in the morning before company comes over, you will get notifications when it needs emptying or charging, and if it is still cleaning when you want to use the pool just open the app and tell it to dock. You may need to get closer to the unit for connectivity as signal through water is hit or miss. Added bonus though is the 3 year full replacement warranty, as always though make sure you read and follow the instructions so they can't deny you.
Overall, though priced high, I think this is an awesome unit and I hope to get many years of a clean pool out of it.
Installing and pairing it with the App went smoothly, and it did a firmware update once I put it on the charging stand. This unit will communicate in either 5g or 2.4g wifi which is good because our wifi signal outdoors is stronger on the 5g band.
The build quality seems very good, solid but a little heavy. Everything came well packaged and organized. There’s a quick start guide, and a thorough manual included. The unit's 13,400 mAh battery takes about 4.5 hours to charge and can do lighter jobs such as skimming for approximately 10 hours, floors and walls it will last about 3 hours. Beatbot suggests that on a full charge you can clean about 3400 square feet which is more than I will need.
According to Beatbot, the robot automatically parks above the water surface when cleaning is complete or the battery is low, and SmartDrain automatically releases water for lighter retrieval. You can also call it back anytime when it’s on the surface with the one-touch app return parking. This is a great feature, you're not going to have to fish the cleaner out from the bottom of the pool if the battery drains.
The cost of this miracle worker seems high but it has a lot of great features, so it might be worth the investment. Compared to higher end Robotic Mowers it’s about on par. There’s a 3 year full replacement warranty so Beatbot stands behind their products.
However, as a very satisfied user of another model AquaSense pool cleaner, I have some experience with their products. The model I currently own is a Beatbot AquaSense Pro Pool Robot Vacuum. For the last 21 years, I used 2 different corded Maytronics Pool cleaners and was satisfied with their performance. But, after using the Aquasense pool cleaner, I found it to be easier to use and that it provided a more thorough cleaning. Cleanup and maintenance involved a hose rinse of the exterior and filter.
The Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra Pool Vacuum has the same look of superior build quality as my current AquaSense product. It has a beefy look to it and arrived well packaged. The contents of the box were well labeled and included an idiot proof quick start guide along with a more comprehensive manual and accessories. It appeared to be as easy to use as my current pool cleaner. Press a button to set the task or tasks to be completed and set in the water.
I’m looking forward to a full test and review when the weather permits.
Moving to the app, it seems adequate. Simple and not too complex but gives you full control over the cleaning. However, it will ask you for location data. You can hit cancel. It will repeat the request multiple times but eventually give up and not ask again. If you do opt not to allow location data, you'll just lose out on weather data in the app. Not a big deal, but I don't like how every app in the world demands location data. There are also buttons on the unit, so it appears you can operate this without having to load the app, it would just use whatever last setting you had for the clean operation.
Stay tuned for updates 2 (spring) and 3 (fall).
In the last ten days I've cleaned my pool six times in PRO mode. With a pool that is slightly under 1,000 sqft it is averaging 326 minutes. Typically, at the end of the cycle the bot has ~25% battery left. It parks itself at the edge of the pool and alerts -- via phone app -- that I should retrieve the bot and clean the filter basket.
Speaking of the phone app... it could use some refining, but its not terrible. It is more user friendly than some of Beatbot's direct competitors. While on this topic be aware that the bot will lose wifi when its underwater. This is normal and it'll reconnect once it surfaces.
Do you need a bot this expensive? This thing isn't for everyone, and it is under-utilized in my smaller enclosed pool. It does an amazing job, but I'd love to see it stretch its legs in a larger pool -- especially one that isn't enclosed.
TL;DR: This is a beast of a pool cleaner but comes with a steep price. Hands down 5/5 stars.
What I love is that this is a cleaning powerhouse. This 5-in-1 system cleans the surface, waterline, walls, floor, and even clarifies water. The debris detection feature ensures nothing is left behind, and multi-level pool adaptability means it works effortlessly even with step areas or unique pool shapes. It automatically parks at the surface when cleaning is done or the battery is low, making retrieval easier, and my back appreciates the SmartDrain feature, which makes it much easier to lift out of the pool. There's also an app tap that calls it back to you, in case it's not quite surface level, which is very helpful.
One thing that really sets his model above the rest is that it actively clarifies the water with ClearWater technology to improve water clarity 4X faster than traditional clarifiers. It’s a brilliant extra touch that keeps the pool looking pristine beyond just debris removal. On top of all the cleaning features, Beatbot has even prioritized cybersecurity, meaning all data is secure and compliant with the highest industry standards. The solid construction of the unit is reassuring; it feels built to last, which is exactly what I expect from Beatbot. This model has really gone above and beyond.
This is hands-down one of the smartest and most advanced pool robots out there. The AI-powered navigation, multi-level adaptability, smart parking, and water clarification features put it in a league of its own. If you’re looking for flawless, hassle-free cleaning with top-tier technology, Beatbot has definitely delivered. Highly recommend!
I was skeptical at first, but this little thing is quite capable. My pool is an oblong peanut shaped, so not your typically nice polygon, and this thing is able to navigate it quite well and I was surprised at the amount of stuff it was able to pick up.
My depth goes from 3 ft to 12 ft at it's deepest. There is a quite sharp drop from starting from the 8ft mark. When the robot is at it's deepest part, it struggles a bit to climb directly up the incline to get back up, but it was able to make it after trying a few different routes.
I have only used this for a week now, but so far it's doing a pretty decent job and has exceeded my expectations of it.
What’s included:
The AquaSense 2 Ultra comes with everything you need for seamless operation: the robotic pool cleaner itself, a charging dock, clarifying agent kit, side brushes, and various accessories. It also includes a genuine dust and water-proof cover and a user-friendly guide to get you started right away.
One of the standout features of the AquaSense 2 Ultra is its HybridSense AI Mapping system. This technology combines an AI camera with dual TOF sensors, infrared, and ultrasonic technology to provide ultra-precise navigation and obstacle detection. It ensures that every inch of your pool is covered, and you can monitor its path through the app for total control. No more missed spots or inefficient cleaning—this system guarantees full coverage.
The AquaSense 2 Ultra offers 5-in-1 cleaning, covering the surface, waterline, walls, floor, and even clarifying the water. The powerful submarine propulsion system ensures effortless cleaning for both inground and above-ground pools. It truly simplifies pool maintenance by tackling all aspects of cleaning in one go.
Once cleaning is complete, or the battery runs low, the AquaSense 2 Ultra automatically parks above the water surface. The SmartDrain function then releases water, making retrieval lighter and easier. You can also call it back to the surface with a single tap on the app. This thoughtful feature eliminates the hassle of heavy lifting or fishing out the robot manually.
So far it seem very user-friendly and they provide a nice booklet with all the images and instruction you need. Connecting the Beatbot to the app was also smooth. The instructions were clear, and the connection process was straightforward, with no difficulties. The Beatbot App significantly enhanced the product usage experience like the ability of scheduling cleaning sessions, monitoring environmental and water temperatures, and receiving cleaning data and updates from your smartphone. You can also control your bot through the app so you can bring him closer to the edge of the pool when needed.
The pool vacuum came with the largest quick start guide I have ever seen, measuring about 1 1/2 X 2 1/2 feet in size. It details setting up the pool vacuum, which turns out to be quite simple, which I like. The pool vacuum is also accompanied by a regular sized printed user manual, the charging dock, the clarifying agent kit, a protective storage cover, and some parts and accessories for the pool vacuum.
The build quality of this pool vacuum is excellent. A solid build usually adds to the weight of an item, and the pool vacuum weighs about 30 pounds. This should still be quite manageable for most people, as it has a convenient carrying handle, but might still be a consideration for some individuals. One nice feature it that floats to the pool surface and expels water from the unit once its finished cleaning, making retrieval from the pool fairly easy.
There is a bit of initial setup required for this pool vacuum, and this includes attaching the side brushes, adding the clarifying agent kit, assembling the charging dock, and then finally, charging the pool vacuum. The pool vacuum can be operated by selecting a cleaning mode using the push buttons on its upper surface, and this tells the pool vacuum which areas of your swimming pool to clean. You can also install an app on your cell phone from one of the two popular app stores, and this allows you to operate and monitor the pool vacuum from your phone. Using the app, you can also customize the cleaning areas and times. This app is somewhat similar to apps that are commonly seen with robotic vacuums that are used to clean the interior of homes. I was glad to see that this pool vacuum has a large 3.7 litre, easy to access filter basket that traps the debris from the swimming pool. The mesh of this basket is very fine, allowing it to easily trap most debris.
Unfortunately, I can’t currently comment regarding this pool vacuum’s operation under real life conditions, as it is still winter here. I hope to be able to update this review once I’ve had a chance to have it running for a while in the summer.
Overall, I have been quite impressed with this pool vacuum thus far. It has all the features I would hope to have in a pool vacuum and more.
Design and Build Quality
The AquaSense 2 Ultra's sleek midnight blue exterior isn't just for show. Built with premium materials, this cordless unit showcases thoughtful engineering in every detail. The robust construction suggests long-term durability, while its streamlined design helps it navigate pool corners effortlessly.
Smart Features That Actually Work
Unlike many "smart" pool cleaners that overpromise and underdeliver, the AquaSense 2 Ultra's AI features are genuinely useful. The proprietary HybridSense™ AI Pool Mapping technology combines an AI camera with dual TOF sensors, two infrared sensors, and four ultrasonic sensors, creating a comprehensive mapping system that leaves no corner untouched. The AI Cruise Debris Detection isn't just marketing speak – it actually helps the unit identify and target debris efficiently.
Performance and Cleaning Capability
The 5-in-1 cleaning system is where this robot truly shines. It seamlessly cleans the floor, walls, and waterline while simultaneously skimming debris from the water surface and clarifying the water. The multi-level platform cleaning capability is particularly impressive, adapting to different pool depths and structures without missing a beat.
Battery Life and Charging
Equipped with a 13,400 mAh battery, the unit takes about 4.5 hours to charge. While run time varies depending on the cleaning mode, you can expect up to 10 hours of operation for lighter tasks. This is more than enough for most residential pools, and the cordless design eliminates the hassle of managing power cables.
Ease of Use
Despite its sophisticated technology, the AquaSense 2 Ultra is surprisingly user-friendly. The smart surface parking feature allows it to float to the pool's edge when it's done cleaning, making retrieval effortless. The intuitive controls and automated features mean you can essentially set it and forget it.
Value
Yes, the price point is substantial. However, when you consider the advanced technology, comprehensive cleaning capabilities, and the time and effort saved, it becomes easier to justify the investment. From flat pools to complex-shaped ones, this robotic cleaner puts up an equally impressive performance, potentially replacing multiple pool maintenance tools and reducing the need for professional cleaning services.
The Bottom Line
The Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra represents the premium end of pool cleaning technology. While the price may give some buyers pause, its performance, durability, and comprehensive cleaning capabilities make it a worthy investment for those serious about pool maintenance. Its consistent and reliable performance delivers dependable results every day, turning what used to be a labour-intensive chore into an automated, efficient process.
Is it worth the investment? If you value your time and want the most advanced pool cleaning technology available, absolutely. Just be prepared for the premium price tag that comes with this level of sophistication and convenience.
The fact that this is an all natural cleaner is huge. Salt water pools are becoming more common, the less chemicals, the better. As long as your salt water pool is under 5000 PPM, you’re free to use this machine. In the new world, AI is taking over, and this Aquasense 2 is following suit being the “world’s first robotic pool cleaner, with water surface parking.” It also maps the areas out and creates restricted areas, if need be. It has 4 guided wheels for precise cleaning and if you have stairs in your pool, this Beatbot can clean them, depending on the width. This pool cleaner can also be used for an in ground, or above ground pool and it covers up to 3444 square feet. If you do have a larger pool, it may require more time to clean but luckily the charging time is only 4 and a half hours. It’s battery life is also 4 hours. Another notable mention is, there is an app available to control the machine while it’s in the water. The app provides battery life, cleaning mode options and so much more.
To be honest, I’ve never seen anything like this. I wanted to get the opinion from someone who owns a pool, on their experiences with their pool cleaners. They were overwhelmed when they saw this one. They said the average life span of their “average” pool cleaner was a year, and for a hefty price too. They said after some time, their machine wasn’t filtering correctly and was instead holding the dirt inside causing it to break. Since the Beatbot has the “smart drain” feature which automatically releases water, there likely wouldn’t be that machine damaging build up. This Beatbot also has advanced coating technology to prevent sun exposure/damage. They also guarantee a three year full replacement warranty, which to me seems that they stand strongly behind their product. I enjoyed learning all about this Beatbot and look forward to trying it in the summer months. I understand the sticker cost may stun you, however I really do believe this machine is worth it. It’s new technology, hands free, and arrives with a full warranty to back you up.
Although it is impossible to provide photos of the unit in operation due to the time of year,(Feb 26/25), I will return to this review later in the year to provide a complete update on real world results.
The first thing that I thought when I opened the box was just how sturdy and well made this thing is. It looks like a cross between a mini tank and a robot. Given the weight it's surprising how well this does in water. In essence this pretty much works the same way as a robot vacuum and using the app allows you to map the area. The Beatbot features advanced AI technology and while i can't speak to all aspects of how that is embedded in the machine I can confirm it does an excellent job. I think most of it is down to it's running and familiarity of the pool it cleans and saves down for future learning and mapping.
I am always skeptical of apps for smart home devices but I am pleasantly surprised with the Beatbox app and it works very well. Setting up is a bit of a faff as you need to register and get a verification code but once you've done that and have an account it's very straight forward. I setup with my Pixel phone and it has been seamless so far which is just as well because this thing is expensive, much much more so than a top range robot vac!
Now onto the cleaning itself, in addition to submerging and getting down onto the tiles to wipe and scrub it also surface cleans. It is not 100% perfect in reality in my opinion but I would say it gets to about 90% of the way there. A feature I think is a game changer is being able to use the app on my phone as a remote control. This makes it easy to target a specific area and clean it relatively quickly. Yes, you could go and grab a net and try to fish out bugs or leaves or snack wrappers but why bother when you can use this feature!
Maintenance is pretty easy, and the user guide helps advise on do's and don't. Of course this in itself requires some cleaning and the filter needs changed but that is to be expected. In my opinion, as far as pool cleaners go this is likely one of if not the best that is currently available and if your budget stretches to this then it's a great investment. And yes, it looks super fancy and is a talking point when neighbors and friends visit to use the pool!
When I first opened the box, I was immediately impressed by how solid and sturdy this pool vacuum robot felt. It has a rugged, almost military-grade build quality, reminding me of a mini tank or a high-tech robot. Despite its heavy-duty construction, it's surprisingly agile underwater.
In terms of performance, this robot works similarly to a high-end home vacuum, but it's specifically designed for pools. Equipped with advanced AI technology, it efficiently maps the pool area, learning and remembering the layout over time. While not perfect, I found it cleans about 90% effectively, handling tiles, walls, and floating debris quite well.
Setting up the smartphone app was straightforward after getting past the initial registration and verification. I've been using it seamlessly on my Pixel phone, and the standout feature is definitely the remote-control function. It lets me target specific spots in the pool easily, eliminating the need to manually fish out debris.
Maintenance is relatively simple. The user guide clearly explains the necessary steps, including regular filter cleaning and occasional replacement, which is standard for pool robots.
Although it's expensive, I genuinely think the price is justified by the quality, advanced features, and technology included. It’s easily among the best pool vacuum robots available right now, and it even serves as an impressive conversation piece when guests visit.
Overall, it feels robust and futuristic, significantly reducing manual pool cleaning tasks. While it's not perfect and carries a premium price tag, I highly recommend it for anyone looking to invest in a top-quality, high-tech pool cleaning solution.

After thoroughly assessing the Beatbot aquasense 2 Ultra, I can provide a comprehensive assessment. At a price point of $4,758.00, I believe this product offers excellent functionality, but it is very highly priced. This will likely deter some from this investment, but there is a lot going on under the hood. This is cutting edge stuff that can keep you safe WHILE it cleans. Overall, I highly recommend the Beatbot aquasense 2 Ultra for anyone looking for a quality product in this category. It performs exceptionally well and should meet the needs of most users with all the different intelligent modes.
In terms of general features, it's cordless and has good battery life. It has different modes and can clean the surface, floor and/or walls. For the amount of effort required on your part, it does a good job cleaning. If you choose to only clean the surface, the battery lasts about twice as long. Once the robot is done its cleaning cycle or is low on battery, it will automatically return to the surface and "park" itself so you can easily retrieve it. As noted earlier, it is a little heavy but at least it releases water to make itself a little lighter. The basket/filter is easy to remove and clean.
In terms of smart features, there's an app that's easy to use. The robot can connect via wifi or Bluetooth so connecting was straightforward. You can use the app to set the cleaning mode, manually control the robot (if you want it to spend more time in a specific area) and make it come back to the surface for retrieval. Alternatively, you can click the buttons on the robot itself, but the app makes it a lot easier.
This Ultra model has an AI camera that uses infrared and ultrasonic sensors to help it map your pool's layout and detect missed debris. The list of debris that it can detect is updated over time via software updates. I have a straightforward rectangular pool so I can't comment on how well this works on curvier and more complex pools.
While this pool cleaner robot has plenty of great features, it is pricy. However, this is the AquaSense 2 Ultra which is their highest-end model. If you're looking for something a little cheaper, you can try their AquaSense 2 Pro model which is about $1k cheaper. The main difference is that the 2 Pro model does not have an AI camera or infrared or ultrasonic sensors to help map the pool or detect missed debris. The 2 Pro model still does this but may not be as accurate without this additional technology. The 2 Ultra also has 11 motors vs 9 motors and has 6 wheels to help it navigate edges and corners whereas the 2 Pro model has 4 wheels.
What’s really great is the cleaning system. It handles everything from the surface to the walls, plus it even helps clarify the water. It does all this while being cordless, which makes it super convenient. Its submarine-like design allows it to move quickly and efficiently, covering a lot of ground in no time.
The AI camera system is smart enough to adjust the cleaning path if it misses any debris, which is very helpful, especially for pools with different depths. It also does a great job cleaning the edges and corners thanks to its side guide wheels and dual brushes.
Once it finishes, it parks itself above the surface and drains out any water, making it easy to grab when it’s done. The added bonus is that it helps filter and clarify the water much faster than traditional methods, saving time and effort.
With a 3-year full replacement guarantee, it feels like a trustworthy investment. In the end, this robot pool vacuum does an excellent job cleaning and maintaining your pool with minimal hassle.
This robot cleans everything: the floor, walls, waterline, and even the pool surface. The skimming function is especially impressive, thanks to side brushes that effectively push floating debris into the basket. Unlike previous models, it holds debris better during operation, so less escapes when the unit moves. It also has a built-in water clarification system, which helps settle fine particles for better filtration.
The AI-powered mapping system is a major selling point. It uses a combination of sensors and an onboard camera to detect obstacles and plan efficient cleaning routes. In theory, this should make it smarter than the competition, but in practice, the AI can be overly cautious. It sometimes spends too much time in one area, repeatedly passing over the same spot before moving on. While this ensures thorough cleaning, it can be frustrating if you're expecting a quick, full-pool clean.
The robot handles most pool surfaces well but has some trouble with steep ledges and steps. Unlike last year’s models, which climbed automatically, this version requires you to manually activate "Multi-Zone Mode" in the app if you want it to scale tanning ledges or high walls. Given the price, it would be nice if this adjustment happened automatically.
Battery life is strong, offering up to 5 hours of floor cleaning or 10 hours of surface skimming. The included wireless charging dock is a great feature—no exposed ports means no risk of water damage—but it does take about 4.5 hours to fully charge. A wired option might have been faster, but the trade-off for durability is understandable.
The app is useful when it works, allowing you to adjust cleaning modes, check battery life, and even manually steer the robot like an RC car when it’s floating. However, once the cleaner is fully submerged, the connection often drops, meaning you can’t change settings mid-cycle. This is a common issue with underwater robotics, but it’s something to keep in mind.
Retrieving the robot is easy thanks to "Smart Surface Parking," which brings it to the edge of the pool when the battery is low. It also drains water before removal, making it lighter to lift. The debris basket, while effective, is on the smaller side (4L), so if you have a heavily leaf-covered pool, expect to empty it more often.
If you want the most premium, all-in-one robotic pool cleaner and don’t mind the price, the AquaSense 2 Ultra delivers excellent cleaning performance with high-end features. It’s especially great for pools that get a lot of floating debris. However, the AI can feel a little too persistent in one area if you stare at the robot, the app loses connectivity underwater (this is almost unavoidable), and climbing requires manual intervention in the app. Given the price, these quirks stand out more than they should, but the build quality and warranty justify the cost. If budget isn’t a concern and you want top-tier automation, this is one of the best options.
Something that really impressed me is that it turned nighttime while I was cleaning my pool and I looked out and headlight came on this cleaner so I’ve never used a pool cleaner with headlights. I was very impressed. with the app integration and big easy buttons on the top of the cleaner it’s has unprecedented ease of use. One of these simplest pool, cleaners I’ve used, especially without integration. Am my opinion and after a few weeks of use, this cleaner works extremely well in my opinion. The only con I could find with this cleaner is the price it can be quite expensive at the current price., however, with all the features that are included is easy to say it’s a value.
The bigger battery makes for longer cleaning time on the "multi-zone" setting.
The mapping is much improved on the latest software update. None of the mapping options on any of the cleaners has worked very well in my pool but this one is by far the best. I guess I have a difficult pool. I always run them on the "multi-zone" setting anyway. I'll either set it for 2 hours or max depending on the condition of the pool. One thing I find that I don't ever use is the skimming feature. To me it just doesn't work all that great. I have a solar skimmer that runs 24/7 so that's not a big deal.
You can just look at this thing, pick it up and tell it's a quality piece of equipment. There's a 30 minute video on YouTube of I guy tearing down an AquaSense Pro and was amazed at the build quality.
The light feature on this cleaner is amazing. When it's dark the light will come on and you can watch it steering towards any debris on the bottom. A truly awesome machine.
If one of these or the lower models are in your budget I'd say you cant go wrong with Beatbot.
Incredible Features & Performance
The quality of this machine is outstanding. It’s packed with features that make it not only functional but also fun to watch in action. It has 5-in-1 cleaning capabilities, including superior surface cleaning, which it absolutely lives up to. The ice blue paint job is a nice touch, giving it a sleek, modern look.
This vacuum has the ability to map out your entire pool using advanced obstacle navigation. It does an exceptional job of covering all areas of your pool, including the floor, walls, waterline, and even surface water. The AI-powered system optimizes the cleaning path, ensuring it hits every spot with precision. I’ve used cheaper pool vacuums in the past, and they would always miss spots or get stuck on obstacles, but not this one. The AI ensures everything gets cleaned, and you can even track its progress through the app, which is super cool.
Exceptional Cleaning Performance
This vacuum is a beast when it comes to cleaning. It’s designed with tank-like tracks that give it great mobility and stability, even when it’s navigating tricky corners or tough areas. The brushes work incredibly well, helping to break down debris and ensure a deep clean. It also boasts clear water clarification technology, which is amazing for removing oils, dirt, and residue from the water. Whether you’ve been tanning or just enjoying the pool, this vacuum ensures your water stays pristine.
Another impressive feature is its auto-return function. Once it’s done cleaning, it will return to the surface and even head back to the spot where you initially placed it in the water. It also has sensors that detect missed items, like leaves or dirt, and will go back to clean them up—incredible functionality.
Easy to Use and Maintain
It’s super easy to use. Just place it on the charging dock, and it will auto-charge, ready to go for the next cleaning cycle. Plus, the 3-year warranty and UV protection add extra peace of mind. The vacuum can clean up to 99,000 gallons four times faster than traditional clarifiers, which is a huge time-saver.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a high-tech, reliable, and efficient pool vacuum, the BeatBot AquaSense 2 Ultra is hands down one of the best options available. It replaces multiple devices with its all-in-one functionality, saving you time and effort. The precision, ease of use, and overall performance are top-notch. I highly recommend this product—if you can get your hands on it, don’t hesitate. It’s worth it!
It's a big robot, and a big investment, but this Beatbot is the best by far.
The app is super handy—I can check its progress, steer it if needed, or call it back when it’s done. And the best part? It parks itself at the edge when it’s finished, so no awkward lifting or reaching. It’s crazy how much time this saves, and my pool has never looked better. If you’re tired of constantly skimming and scrubbing, this thing is a total lifesaver!
It will run for 5 hours cleaning the bottom and walls and 10 hours running time cleaning the surface and coverers up to 3875 Sq .Ft of cleaning. Using the BeatBot App, you can retrieve Robotic Pool Clean or it automatically returns and parks above the water surface after cleaning or when the battery is low. Recharging it is easy with the nice docking station, no removing a plug cover to plug it in , just set it in the docking station and it makes contact with the robot and it starts charging.
You need to download the Beatbot App to be able to have full control and setting out the Robotic Pool Cleaning from mapping the area of the pool, cleaning modes, monitoring battery levels, temperatures as well as retrieving the pool cleaner. Very easy to clean the collection filter as well as a unique Water Clarification that helps clean the water in your pool.
This is a premium top of the line pool vacuum cleaner by Beatbot and industry leading with a 3 year warranty. Replacement parts and accessories needed are available to keep this high tech Robotic Vacuum Pool cleaner for years in confidence. I'm proud to own this Top Of The Line best in Market Cleaner.
What really sets this thing apart is how much it can handle. It doesn’t just clean the floor and walls like most pool vacuums—it tackles the surface, waterline, and even helps clear up the water. The AI is smart enough to adjust its route if it misses a spot, and those side brushes do a great job picking up floating debris. My pool has some weird edges, but this thing handled them like a pro.
The app control was another highlight. I could connect via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to monitor its progress, check the water temperature, and even update the software. I also tried using the Multizone mode to manually direct it to specific areas through the app, which worked well for targeting stubborn debris.
Performance-wise, it did a thorough job of removing dirt, algae, and floating debris. It climbed walls effortlessly and didn’t get stuck, even on my pool’s steps. The battery lasted long enough to complete a full cleaning cycle, and the recharge time was reasonable. Plus, since charging is cordless, there are no open ports that could lead to leaks inside.
Now, the only downside? It’s not cheap. But if you’re looking for a high-end pool vacuum that actually does the work for you, this one’s totally worth it. It’s hands-down one of the best robotic pool cleaners I’ve used.
Original review: I ordered this Beatbot Aquasense 2 Ultra Vacuum at the recommendation of our neighbour who got a similar one last year! It is wintertime in Canada so I will write my review based on first impressions of the unit and the app, and will update in the summer.
Overall, I’m so happy with all the features of it! I’ve seen another Beatbot pool vaccum climb the walls and it’s mind boggling. It really does an excellent job at cleaning the bottom and the sides of the pool. Our pool is just under 600 sq feet and I’m sure it will do a great job cleaning it. Our neighbours is a similar size, and it takes about 90 mins to do his, but it depends on how often you’re cleaning and how dirty the pool is.
I really like the rubber wheels on it, they are robust and will do a good job cleaning the liner. Everything is so sleek, the unit, accessories and even the bag that comes with it! I can’t wait to see it clean the wall, floor and waterline of the pool.
The app is fantastic. You can set it up based on location and it functions exactly like an indoor robotic vacuum app would! You can set up times and locations for it to map. It also give you vital information like how much battery is left before you next charge. Overall; for the time being I highly recommend! More to follow on this.
One of its standout features is the impressive battery life, as it ran for over 4 hours of continuous cleaning on the initial use. It handled debris across the pool floor, walls, and waterline with precision and consistency.
Now, after 12 days of continued use, we are extremely pleased and impressed by the Beatbot 2 Ultra’s ability to intelligently map, navigate, and maintain a crystal-clear pool. It continues to deliver flawless performance, requiring minimal supervision and providing professional-grade results with every cycle. The Beatbot 2 Ultra stands out as a top-tier investment for anyone seeking a premium, automated pool cleaning experience!
The package includes 2 extra side brushes, extra screws and a screwdriver for any maintenance items, a hook to attach to a pole to pull the vacuum out of the pool, and a cover. The cover is a premium fabric that is sun proof, dust proof, and waterproof. It is also stores in a handy pouch that is attached to the cover. This pouch can be used to store the pool hook if you are using the cover. I have included photos to illustrate this.
There was one tip I discovered during the assembly process that is not mentioned in the instructions. When installing the side brushes, install the end with the smaller tab first so it sits deeper in the slot on the wheel and then there is more room to attach the end with the larger tab. I have included photos to illustrate this.
The vacuum is extremely easy to operate. You simply turn it on by pressing the power button, then press a button for the desired cleaning mode. There is a button for "floor" mode which cleans just the floor. There is a button for "standard" mode which cleans the floor, walls and waterline. There is a button for "pro" mode which cleans the floor, walls, waterline, and surface. There is also a button for "custom mode" where you can design a custom cleaning mode in the app for cleaning area and duration that will be synced to this button. Note that there are other functions such as dispensing a clarifier and triggering hotspot configuration that are accessible via the buttons as well. With these buttons, it means it is possible to get most of the functionality of the vacuum without ever needing the app. After powering on and selecting the mode, place the vacuum on level ground, wait 5 seconds for the unit to calibrate, then place the vacuum in the pool and it starts cleaning. When the cleaning is done, the vacuum positions itself at the top of a wall for easy removal.
I have tried a number of robotic pool vacuums and this one does the best job of cleaning my pool by far. My pool has a sloped floor from the shallow end to the deep end, but it also has sloped sections that transition from the walls to the floor. Some other robotic cleaners get thrown off by these angled sections and it takes them a long time and multiple passes to cover the entire floor. This robotic pool vacuum doesn't get thrown off by these sections. After testing for about 3 weeks, I have also found that the AI camera and various sensors allow it to learn the layout of my pool very quickly and it improves the more it is used.
Besides the ease of operation, optimal cleaning path learning, and positioning at the top of a wall when done cleaning for easy removal, there are other features that make this an excellent choice for your pool. First, this pool vacuum has excellent suction power. It easily picks up some debris and waterlogged leaves that others can't. Second, this pool vacuum also has large roller brushes at the front and back of the vacuum. These brushes help to agitate and pick up smaller dirt particles as well as clean up any smaller algae spots that it encounters. I have found with manually vacuuming or using other robot cleaners, I would have to brush over some algae spots in order to remove them as the vacuum alone did not. But this vacuum uses it's own brushes to perform that task automatically. Note that I am not saying this pool vacuum will brush a pool with heavy algae, but it will make it easier to get rid of some smaller algae spots. Third, this robotic pool vacuum comes with a cordless charging dock. This makes it so easy to charge. No more fumbling with plugging a cord into an outlet on the vacuum and then into a household outlet. With this system, just leave the charger plugged in and set the vacuum onto the charger. It's so easy. Fourth, the filter basket on this pool vacuum is larger than others I have tested so it can hold more debris in one cleaning session without having to be pulled out to empty it. The basket is very easy to remove to empty and hose out for cleaning. Finally, this robotic pool vacuum is the only one I have tested that can do a full surface cleaning.
The app is easy to use, but is pretty basic. The app allows you to set the cleaning modes that you can access via the buttons on the vacuum and then start vacuuming. The app also gives you a log of the cleaning sessions so you can see the map of the cleaning pattern as well as how long it was operating. The app does not let you control the vacuum in the pool and you can't schedule pool cleanings (more on that below). I found the app easy to install by using the QR code in the instruction manual and easy to connect to the vacuum by scanning the QR on the vacuum. Note that you will have to register using your email address in order to use the app. If you really don't want to register to use the app, you can still get the same functionality from the vacuum by just using the buttons on the vacuum. You just won't be able to see the cleaning history. I like having this option to use the vacuum without having to register a new app on my phone. I have registered to use the app in the hopes that additional functionality may be added to the app over time, such as scheduling cleanings or setting different cleaning modes.
There are some things I want to point out that this robotic vacuum does not do. First, I cannot schedule pool cleanings in the app for this vacuum. For example, when I am away on vacation, it would be nice to be able to leave the vacuum in the pool and schedule it to do 2 or 3 floor cleanings while I am away. This vacuum can easily clean just the floor of my pool in an hour so the long battery life would allow for it to do 2 or 3 cleanings before having to be taken out and recharged, but there is no way in the app to schedule these cleanings. Second, the instructions indicate that the pool pump should be turned off when this vacuum is used. I assume that is so the vacuum sensors are not thrown off by the water moving in the pool. What this means for me is that even if I could schedule pool cleanings while I was away (or even get a neighbor to put the vacuum in the pool for me), the pool would have to be off in order for the vacuum to work properly. My pool pump does not have a timer on it, so when I am away for vacation, I just leave it running and this pool vacuum does not like that. In my case, I do have an older robotic vacuum that does allow for scheduled cleanings, so I can use that. However, it does not do as good a job of cleaning the pool as this one does.
Overall, I am very impressed with this robotic pool vacuum. It is extremely easy to operate and does a great job of cleaning my pool. While I have listed some things I wish this pool vacuum could do, this is the best robotic pool vacuum I have ever tried. It is a great option for cleaning your pool when you are able to place it in the pool and remove it between cleanings. Also, the "15 certifications, including ETL, CEC, and IP68, ensuring safety and environmental compliance" help to assure you are getting a well thought out, quality item. This robotic pool vacuum also comes with a 3 year warranty for piece of mind and all of the contact information for help and support is clearly listed in many places in the documentation as well as a sticker on the vacuum itself. This robotic pool vacuum easily gets 5 stars from me.
Its currently winter here in Canada so I wasn’t able to use the robot on my own personal pool, what I did instead was take it to a local hotel and tested it out in their indoor pool, sadly I was told that I wouldn’t be allowed to take any pictures due to protecting the privacy of other guests using the pool at the time.
This is the top of the line premium pool cleaner and is reviewed positively around the web so I was really excited to try it out. The Ultra version gets you the AI pool mapping and debris detection, more sensors, more motors, and the larger battery for longer runtime. It’s a five in one system that will clean the floor of your pool, the walls, the waterline, the surface and also provides water clarification. For the water clarification, the whole package does come with the little blue clarifying agent kit but just one, and once it runs out you will have to buy replacements separately which run $49.00 for two pieces on the beatbot website. To be honest though, they aren’t required for the pool cleaner to function and unless you pool is super dirty on a regular basis, I personally don’t think they are needed.
The multi zone mode is super impressive to watch in action when the robot crawls up the pool walls and over lips and edges in the pool and its ability to skim across the surface of the water is amazing because the side brushes are a game changer and I can totally see how leaves and other debris will get sucked into making it more efficient at cleaning outdoor pools. The debris basket is 4 liters and is easy to access, empty and clean. It’s dual layer for different size of debris that the cleaner picks up.
The robot itself is 29lbs which is pretty heavy but when the robot is done cleaning the pool it parks itself at the surface of the water and will self drain itself so when you pick it up it doesn’t weight more being full of water. The large grip handle on the top is really helpful getting it in and out of the water.
The version I got came with the charging base, and it’s convenient to have as you can just pick up the robot and place it on its dock for recharging without having to mess around with wires and ports.
The app worked ok and its pretty similar to the apps of the robot vacuums I’ve used in the past, pretty basic. It lets you choose your modes, set cleaning parameters, shows your remaining battery percentage and current runtimes. Allows you to do spot cleaning and define custom modes.
The 3 year warranty is a really nice touch especially for something that is used outdoors and underwater, and that length of a warranty on tech items is pretty rare these days.
Can’t wait until summer to get this thing in my own pool as it worked very well in the indoor pool I tested it out in, Yes, the ultra is pretty expensive but it comes packed with a ton of cool features and it saves you money from hiring a company to come clean your pool for you and saves you time if you’ve just been doing it yourself.
Right from the beginning one is impressed with the organization of the contents of the box, a very encouraging start.
There is a large instruction sheet describing steps 1 to 3 and three corresponding boxes that contain everything you need to complete the setup.
There is very little to do, the only assembly required is two tiny screws to secure the two legs to the charging station and two small side brushes to fasten to wheels on each side of the unit.
Beyond that, all you have to do is drop the clarifying agent container into the slot on the top side of the unit.
Once completed you just plug it in, download the app and you’re ready to go.
Performance:
Here again, the operative term is simplicity. Once the unit is charged up it displays a solid green light on the top of the unit.
The first time you use the device you must let it calibrate by placing it on the ground next to your pool for about five seconds, then just gently drop it in the pool and let it go. The Beatbot will first scan your pool’s dimensions in order to provide your app with all the required data. The app allows you to select three different cleaning modes, Floor, Standard and Pro Mode depending on your needs. You can also select to dispense a water clarifier if you wish by simply clicking a button on the app.
It is honestly the easiest and most effective way to clean your pool. Once completed your app will alert you and the Beatbot will be waiting for you at the side of the pool.
Summary:
The Beatbot Aquasense 2 Ultra does absolutely everything it claims to do, a refreshing change in this day of misleading advertising. It has superior engineering throughout, intuitive features, a very user-friendly app and it is incredibly easy to use. One other thing I should mention is battery efficiency, I used the Beatbot on Pro Mode which is the most intensive and longest cleaning mode lasting almost three hours for my pool. The unit only used 35% of its stored battery power to complete a full cleaning of my pool including the floor, walls, stairs and water surface. The unit is nothing short of amazing, while it is on the expensive side it is worth every penny.
Buy quality and only cry once 👍
Kudos Beatbot!
This product is a game-changer. It sets itself apart with the mapping feature, a cutting-edge combination of an AI camera, dual TOF sensors, infrared, and ultrasonic technology. This allows for precise navigation, real-time obstacle detection, and full pool coverage. The ability to track the pool map and cleaning path via the app eliminates the possibility of missed spots.
Unlike traditional pool cleaners that focus on just the floor or walls, this product cleans every part of your pool, including the surface, waterline, walls, floor, and even water clarity. This is my favorite feature of this product. Using AI, the cleaner detects and targets missed debris, adjusting its path for ultimate cleaning. With its six guide wheels and side brushes, It even travelled up the steps in our pool! It not only cleaned the bottom, but the walls and all surface debris from every corner.
I also love that we don't have to struggle with manual retrieval. The product parked itself above the water when it sensed that it was finished cleaning. Though our pool isn't large enough to expend the battery, it will also return to the surface when the battery is low. It drained the water to make it lighter, but it's still pretty heavy, so I wouldn't call lifting easy. Retrieval can also be done with the app as long as the vacuum is already on the surface. It won't return by calling if it's on the bottom of the pool.
If I had one complaint, it would be that I wish there were a protruding handle on the top that was balanced. The way you have to grab the vacuum is awkward and somewhat difficult to manage. However, this is such a small complaint when compared to the incredible functions this product performs.
The app was easy to find and download on my iPhone. Water temp can be monitored via the app, and this is where mapping takes place. Dual connectivity ensures reliable connection.
As a bonus, it comes with a 3-year full replacement warranty, so there's really no down side here. This product is amazing and has made quick and efficient work of getting our pool ready for the summer!
The Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra Cordless Pool Vacuum Robot is an amazing advancement in automated pool cleaning. I have been using this device for about 2 weeks now and I am impressed. I don't use it daily because I have it at our lake house and I am only up there a couple of times a week.
This is the first pool robotic cleaner that I have ever used and the first that I have ever seen that will clean the floor, walls, pool line and surface. It has various settings that will allow you to choose which of those functions you want it to do, or the Pro Mode that does all.
It does a great job on the floor of the pool and the walls. The pool steps aren't deep enough (front to back) for the Beatbot to sit properly on each step. It does clean them but not as well as the floor of the pool. The surface is somewhat marginal due to the prevailing winds that keep moving the catkins around. (Catkins are those stringy, tassel looking things that fall from Oak trees when pollinating.) But fortunately, the skimmers do a good job of capturing those.
This device does not move around the pool as fast as a Polaris, but it does a superior cleaning job vs. a Polaris and mine has not become stuck anywhere like the Polaris.
Yesterday, I put it in Pro Mode and set it free. It ran for 5 hours without completing the water surface skimming but did everything else. At that point it had only 8% of its battery capacity remaining and parked at the surface.
The unit is much heavier than a Polaris and having to lean over to retrieve it from the pool emphasizes that fact. But I'm almost 74 and I have no problem with the weight. In order to park at the surface, it empties most of the water from its body, allowing it to float.
The Beatbot sits somewhat vertical in its charging base, reducing the footprint that would otherwise be required.
The debris basket is fairly large, but it has parked so that I can empty it before it continues each time I have used it. That is probably due to the amount of silt that it picks up in the cleaning process which block the screening. The basket removes easily. Just hose out the silt, reinstall, and it continues on its way.
Another feature is you can use the app as a remote control to clean a specific area of the pool. I have not tried that yet. Since the app will not communicate with the Beatbot when it is submerged, I'm not sure how that works.
The Beatbot is an extremely advanced device; well-built, with great fit and finish.
I have a irregular kidney shaped pool with one end that is very deep (probably close to 10 feet deep) and other pool cleaners I tested would just simply get stuck in the bottom of the deep end. So I needed a robot that had good traction and could climb up an incline and preferably scrub some walls too. This advanced robotic cleaner has the ability to do it all.
One amazing feature that it has over other cleaners is the SmartDrain which comes up to the surface on it’s own, which should make retrieval out of the pool much easier than trying to scoop out a heavy water filled robot from the bottom of the pool with a hook and pole.
The AI pool mapping with targeted cleaning and app control is very promising. All topped with a staggering 3 year full replacement guarantee.
This thing has all the bells and whistles you could ever ask for it’s basically a robot vacuum like you would see indoors of the highest quality but for your pool.
The price on this unit is quite expensive, but for that price, you basically get every feature you can imagine having in a pool robot, including surface docking wall, cleaning, mapping, and laser measuring. Obstacle avoidance, and re-cleaning of dirty areas as well as camera and control features.
I got this robot in March so we don’t have the ability to put it in a pool right now but just playing around with all of the features the robot itself is quite robust feeling, lots of weight to it. it’s not a toy. It’s quite heavy and I would qualify it as a tool over a toy.
As mentioned, I don’t have the ability to run it through a full test right now, but will in the spring/summer once we get things moving here.
I’m just blown away with all the different functions this robot has, we have an oddly shaped kidney pool with multiple levels and high wall sides and it looks like this robot will take the place of the old creepy Crawley we used to have connected to our vac system.
We’re very excited to use this as we figure out all its functions being able to see through the camera is super cool.
What more could you ask for in a full-fledged pool robot this thing does everything except serve you a drink. A+ rating.
Overall I would highly recommend purchasing this Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra Cordless Pool Vacuum Robot for Complex Pools, Pool Mapping with AI Camera, 5-in-1 Cleaning, Smart Surface Parking, Water Surface Cleaning, Water Clarification – Midnight Blue
Finally this review is of my own honest opinion & is not swayed in anyway by other influences.
I now consider it a 5 star product. It climbs all the walls and gets up onto the sun shelf it was previously getting stuck on. The issue with fiberglass pool edges not being a hard 90 degree angle has been solved.
This robot does it all, bottom, walls, tiles, shelf’s, stairs and skims the surface, very cool the developers were able to update the software to solve my issue.
Highest end pool robot on the market.
I have a fiberglass pool with ledges and a sun shelf. It climbs and cleans nearly all the ledges and gets all the way up and cleans the tile. Does a great job on the bottom and cleans everything on the bottom spotless.
Battery life is sufficient to clean 15x30 pool.
Downsides is some of the features which bring this up into the 3000$ plus range I don’t think are working well. It has never made it up onto the sun shelf I’ve seen it try to climb that wall and fail. I feel like because it’s a fiberglass pool the transitions are not 90 degree angles and the floor to wall is a rounded edge it’s causing problems. It also hasn’t tried to get onto the shelf from all possible angles. Maybe a software update can fix this.
Watching it bounce around the bottom of the pool it seems random and aimless and not necessarily ai mapped precision like is advertised with this model. A pool my size it doesn’t really matter because if I throw it in it gets everything anyway.
I think this model would make sense if you have a concrete pool with 90 degree angles at the floor to all walls and ledges it think it would then work exactly as advertised.
Overall for a fiberglass pool I think I’d get most of the same functionality from the lower tier model.
Pros
- Truly all-in-one: cleans pool floor, walls, waterline, and water surface, plus clarifies water for crystal-clear results.
- AI mapping with camera, infrared, and ultrasonic sensors for precise navigation and efficient, systematic cleaning-even in complex or multi-level pools.

- Surface parking and SmartDrain features make retrieval easy-robot floats to the edge and drains itself for lightweight removal.
- Cordless design with a large 13,400mAh battery-runs up to 10 hours for surface cleaning or 5 hours for floor/wall cleaning, covering pools up to 3,444 sq. ft..
- ClearWater system dispenses natural, skin-safe clarifier to bind fine particles, reducing chemical use and improving water clarity.
- App control via Wi-Fi/Bluetooth: monitor cleaning, see pool maps, set custom modes, and manually direct the robot to trouble spots.
- Sturdy, high-quality build with automotive-grade UV/heat-resistant materials.
- Easy to set up and maintain-filter baskets are large, accessible, and simple to clean.
- Three-year full replacement warranty for peace of mind.
Cons
- Very expensive-premium price point makes it a serious investment, best suited for those who want the most advanced features or have large/complex pools.
- Heavy (about 29 lbs/13 kg); while surface parking and draining help, it may still be cumbersome for some users to lift in and out of the pool.
- Consumable clarifier cartridges are not cheap and need to be replaced regularly if you use the water clarification feature.
- No scheduling feature in the app-cannot program automatic cleanings while away.
I like the fact that it is an AI-powered robot making it an optimal solution to detect debris, clean complex pools, and yields efficient cleaning. The used AI technology along with the its internal camera and integrated sensors allow the robot to map the pool accurately to ensure detailed and complete cleaning. It can work continuously for ten hours on one fully charged battery to clean the floor and walls, and the battery can be fully charged within maximum 5 hours. When the battery is near to die, the robot surfaces and park itself near to the pool's edge.
It was easy and direct to the point to set it up and pair with the app. Its app allows full visibility over its cleaning and battery status. It well designed, and a sturdy machine. Its weight is 13 kg, but I think this is because of its durable internal materials.
In summary, this Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra stands out as a top-tier robotic pool cleaner, combining AI technology with comprehensive cleaning capabilities. Its ability to adapt to complex pool designs, coupled with features like water clarification and smart surface parking, offers a hands-off cleaning experience. While the initial investment is substantial, the time saved and enhanced pool cleanliness may justify its high price of $4000 CDN.
The fact that this is an all in one unit is incredibly convenient for those with a larger pool. With most tools only focusing on cleaning the bottom, this will not only do that but the sides of the pool and act as a skimmer. We have a city tree near our property line that loves to fill our pool with leaves so this is going to be a massive time saver not having to use a basket skimmer and collect all the leaves.
The AI and mapping features are really nice as well, the app is essentially like a house robot vacuum but made for pools. Allowing you to set specific zones so you can tell the bot to just focus on high traffic problem zones instead of always having to do a full clean of the pool.
While it's certainly an upfront investment, for anyone who has spent summers having to deal with pool maintenance you know just how much time this is going to save you over the summer and that will quickly make this pay for itself.
It's a bit of an expensive, although just a fraction of my pool, and since it gives me more time to enjoy said pool, it's worth it. It really does work like a dream.
It cleans above the water and below - the whole package in one little vacuum.
It's a quick charge and buzzes around for quite some time, making sure to get every corner.
It picks up the big stuff and the small stuff.
We get a lot of pine needles where we are - if we don't skim them from the top immediately, they sink to the bottom. Either way, this vacuum takes care of it and it's just not our problem anymore.
It's so neat how you can actually see its mapping and how it improves with every use - after just 3 uses, it pretty much had our pool down solidly.
It was extra great for opening the pool this year.
It has a cute little light that almost makes me feel sorry for it, alone at the bottom of the pool at night.
And if you think I'm anthropomorphizing a vacuum, you haven't even heard what I've named it:
BB-GR8 (yes, a nerdy Star Wars reference - act like you're surprised).
What a weight of my shoulders. This is how technology is meant to be used.
We had an issue with ours and Beatbot took care of it very quickly. I would highly recommend any products Beatbot sells.
Downside for me is it is so heavy! Probably not a problem if you have an in ground pool but man so hard to lift up an out of an above ground pool. Seriously need a hoist! That’s just me though! I don’t know how much it weighs but if I’m guessing I’m going to say 50 lbs! I’m sure the box specifies but I don’t have the box anymore!
Just like my previous beatbot; When the battery is low, the robot automatically parks by the edge of the pool, so it can be easily picked up and prevents extra water loss by draining the water inside. One of its excellent features is its ability to produce smart maps and clean efficiently. I can say that it's a really nice and effective pool cleaning robot, but if the price were lower, it would fit into any budget.
When the cleaning was done, it was super easy to retrieve from the corner. It drained itself automatically as well, making me struggle less when handling an already heavy unit. Maintenance after each cycle was simple. I pretty much let go of my pool cleaner guy after I started using this unit. I might have him come back once a year to do deep cleans, but this literally does everything else.
I did take it out of the box to have a good look at it.
It is really well made and I have no doubt it can open (do a first very good clean) my pool.
Excellent buy.
It has HybridSense AI Mapping with a built in camera and 27 Sensors and features 11 motors, 4 scrubbing brushes and 5500GPH of suction power to effectively clean the floors, walls and waterline of your pool. It also has two large side brushes that direct any surface debris into the collection port for quick and efficient water surface cleaning. The large 13400mAh battery can provide up to 10 hours of surface cleaning or up to 5 hours of floor cleaning and up to 4.5 hours for wall and waterline cleaning. It's able to clean pools up to 3,875 sq. ft on a single charge and will automatically return to the surface when cleaning is done or the battery drops below 15%. Once on the surface you use the one-touch park button in the app to bring the robot back to the pool edge and it will automatically start to releases any water that's inside making it lighter and easier to lift out of the pool to place back on the charging dock.
This pool cleaner has a large, two-layer (150μm & 250μm) 4L debris collection basket that can effectively capture debris of all sizes including leaves, hair, sand, insects, and more. It also features built in water purification and comes with a water clarification cartridge that automatically releases a solution to purify your water when it's in floor cleaning mode. The solution is a non toxic, biodegradable formula that uses crushed sea shells so you're not adding any additional chemicals into your pool and should last about a month if you're using the purification option once a week.
Using the app you can select one of the 6 preset cleaning modes, Floor Mode, Standard Mode (floors and walls) Pro Mode (floors, walls and surface), MiltiZone Mode (for pools with multiple levels or sundecks), Area Mode (specific area cleaning) or Eco Mode. There are also control buttons on the top of the pool cleaner that allow you to select one of three cleaning modes, Floor Cleaning, Floor and Wall cleaning or Pro Mode, and a 4th button for a Custom Cleaning Mode that you need to program within the app. The app also allows you to control the cleaner while it's on the surface so you can target specific areas that may have more surface debris, but you cannot control it while it's underwater.
We've been very impressed with how much more effective the AquaSense 2 Ultra pool cleaner has been compared to our old corded pool cleaner and haven't needed to do any manual cleaning at all over the past three weeks. Run time has been really good and we're getting just over 9 hours per charge on surface cleaning mode (2400 sq ft pool) and almost 5 hours on floor and wall cleaning mode. The only real drawback is the price. It's about 3.5x more expensive than our corded cleaner was when we purchased it, so if your budget can accommodate that I would highly recommend getting it.
There are 3 important features that differentiate and elevate this model from its 2024 award-winning predecessor, the AquaSense 2 Pro: AI pool mapping, AI cruise debris detection, and AI multilevel pool cleaning. The AI pool mapping feature allows the machine to put all 21 of the sensors built into this machine to “blueprint” your pool, improving AI capabilities for cleaning coverage in best in class pool sizes up to 3875 ft.² with each use.
AI cruise debris detection capabilities allow the machine to actively seek out and home in on processing actual debris areas in the pool. AI multilevel pool cleaning has the ability to detect different floor levels within a pool and automatically custom design and execute appropriate cleaning techniques using any of the 6 cleaning modes available.
One of the new design features for this machine is the addition of two cleaning wheels mounted on the front of the machine, another industry first. These are excellent for additional cleaning power, especially in corners and tight places.
Perhaps the only question on many minds is why would one purchase this machine unit when dozens of other robot pool cleaners are available at Amazon starting at $150? Let’s conduct a brief price/value economic analysis for both commercial and private homeowner users, followed by a summary of the incredible capabilities and benefits offered by this truly unique product.
Commercial operators:
Availability of on-site swimming pools and the overall upkeep/cleanliness of these pools remains at or near the top of the list for lodging industry guests selecting a new property of choice, and perhaps most importantly, for the intention to return as repeat guests. Properties live and die by the outsize power importance of reviews on social media giants such as Trip Advisor.
Traditional hotel pool daily cleaning typically costs several hours of $35+ benefits, hourly labor. Many hotels have major challenges simply trying to find and retain service and cleaning staff.
Worse, hotel pools must be closed during cleaning hours to protect guests from the tripping and safety hazards of live electrical cords and vacuuming hoses. Affected guests operating on tight time lines, or with young children eagerly awaiting use of the pool have been known to write scathing reviews on the impact of “closed for cleaning” impacts.
The present item under review can reasonably be expected to pay for itself in less than one year based on labor cost savings alone. Additionally, this device does not require any training, always produces consistent quality results, is willing to work weekends or any time 24/7, does not call in sick or simply not show up for work, etc.
Although this device does not have the hoses and electrical cords of traditional pool cleaning equipment, the pool should probably be closed as a precaution while operating. However, pool cleaning can now be scheduled for night audit staff to activate at 1 AM rather than dayshift cleaning staff needing to close the pool during normal guest use hours.
Homeowners:
The cost of installing all types of swimming pools increased significantly during the Covid era as homeowner demand increased proportionately. Cost increases have not abated since that time and the average inground pool cost is now more than $50,000, with many costing twice that and more.
Against this backdrop, think of an investment in the present product under review as a type of insurance policy for maintaining and improving the value of your investment and your ongoing enjoyment and satisfaction of hosting and using a sparkling clean pool.
Do you clean the pool yourself? Say goodbye to hour after hour of tedious and laborious traditional pool cleaning activities that can now be joyfully converted into pool time enjoyment hours and related activities while watching this device performing its magical cleaning activities on your smiling behalf.
Do you hire a pool cleaning contractor instead? Celebrate the end of their ever more expensive monthly invoices by giving them a big thank you for their previous services rendered, and perhaps a couple of Tim Hortons gift certificates while bidding them adios.
Because this is a new product, average lifespan is unknown. The manufacturer offers a full replacement warranty for the first 3 years. Immediate post-warranty replacement at 3 years would cost approximately $1500 annually to operate. If it lasts for 5 years, your pool cleaning cost would be approximately $700 annually. If it lasts for 10 years, congratulations, your pool cleaning costs are closer to $350 annually.

This reviewer has already evaluated and researched almost 800 Amazon products. This is the first product to receive an IP 68 rating, the highest dust control, and second-highest waterproof rating on the IP scale. This rating covers everything except high-pressure steam cleaning penetration, an unlikely ask for a product that spends most of its time immersed in chlorine water!
The second evaluation “first in 800 reviews” is this device’s achievement of no less than 15 different safety and performance certifications covering just about every imaginable product safety and engineering criteria and indicative of impeccable attention to design and execution of all components and systems.
There is only one feature lacking on this machine, and all other robotic pool cleaners available today. The final feature that will be the equivalent of the holy Grail for pool cleaning machines is the ability to self propel itself out of the pool and auto park in the charging rack at the completion of the cleaning cycle.
A YouTube video of a small custom ramp prototype developed by the parent company’s engineers that enables the robot to climb out of the pool and park itself on its own-a definite first ever accomplishment for pool cleaning robots. This technical advancement offers a solution for many pool owners who may not be able to physically lift the best in class 14 kg device out of the water on their own.
The verdict:
The BEATBOT brand light blue robotic cordless pool cleaner robot is a state-of-the-art total cleaning solution product for swimming pools. This is the most advanced and fully featured robotic pool cleaning device available anywhere today. An overall product score of 5/5 is assigned accordingly.

Clarifying agent refills are also a little on the pricey side and last for about 4 uses.
So my final verdict, is this cleaner worth it. If you have this amount of money to spend on a really exceptional pool cleaner then yes, absolutely it is 100% worth it. It works and does everything it says it will and it does it about as nicely as could br expected and with little to no effort on your part. I will update if I have any durability issues but for my tests that I performed today, call me impressed. I have to give this a highly recommend rating.
The actual unit itself was a little different than the one pictured as it doesn't have much of a color to it and the main rubber track at the bottom is a light grey and the one originally showed a dark grey.
There are markings of CE and C ETL US certification.
This is a very hefty pool cleaner that was a little heavier than I expected it to be but is very well built.
There is a charging dock that requires you to put in brackets so it holds up the unit properly. I let it charge overnight and it was ready to go in the morning.
For the most part the unit is pretty much together but you do need to add the side brushes which are a little tricky to get on.
The brushes for the bottom and the sides are a nice soft rubber.
There is a few different modes you can set this to as well like floor , standard, pro or custom. Basically, for just the floor of the pool to everything ( floor , waterline , surface and walls. )
There is an app to download and connect to the pool cleaner. You can customize the exact cleaning area and a specific amount of time.
The pool was just uncovered for the summer season so I just removed a few leaves and obvious debris.
Overall, the pool cleaner did a great job of cleaning the pool. The filter had a good amount of stuff in it and it was easy to empty.
Much easier popping this unit into the pool than trying to clean it manually and much more efficient.
It's an expensive cleaner but could be a good investment since the pool itself is a big investment.
Our in-floor cleaning system is current not working, so Ruby also stirs up all the sediment that sits on the floor otherwise. She makes sure that it gets suspended so that the filters can do their jobs.
We now can focus on the big stuff like Magnolia leaves and let Ruby get the small stuff.
We recently fired our pool cleaning company and are doing it ourselves. Ruby has been wonderful.
Wi-fi when you download the app and update the software, very easy setup. When using the app , make sure you pick your settings out of the water because your phone and robot don’t communicate underwater.
This unit has different settings for cleaning the floor, walls, waterline, and even skims the top when you hit the right setting. I’ve had this in my pool now for two or three weeks and so far I’m very impressed.. There’s even a mode when it’s on the top of the pool skimming, you could change it over with your app and control it with a joystick on your phone. That joystick comes in handy to get the robot to come to you so you can grab it easily out of the pool. The scrubbing power of this robot is perfect. Dual sided brushes get every edge and corner. Climbs walls effortlessly and leaves pool crystal clear. Once it is done cleaning it surface parks on top of the water for easy retrieval. Best of the Best!
